Is The U.S. Going to Occupy Pakistan?

for the situation of pakistan occupy doesn't means like afghanistan or iraq.
if the destabilize pakistan. took control of our neuclear assets thats occupation for me.
once you are not able to fight India and Isrea (long term) thats it for America.

Why do we want you to disappear? A stable prosperous Pakistan with healthy trade relations is best for US.

the normal peoples thinking and the thinking of the Game makers are different.
i dont think us citizen want any confflict with pakistan.
but US is also controled by some lobbies. they have there planes for the world. it is not that simple like 2+2=4 but in world level game you dont know some times 2+2=0 or 2+2=8 so it depends on the one who is solving the question.
for us we think US is against neuclrear pakistan. but for you this may not be the issue.

.
Totally a flame thread. The USA does not now, nor has it ever, wanted t o "occupy" Pakistan. The ONLY thing the USA is asking Pakistan to do is to expel the non-Pakistani fighting forces from its territory.

And we are doing that to the best of our abilities, ie., if you have the vision to see how much we are struggling.

In this world of hundreds of nations, such a request is only not possible to fulfill by nations that do not exercise sovereignty over their "supposed" territory. Most of such nations are labelled as "failed states". Pakistan is a hairs breadth away from being a failed state unless it can show that it controls FATA.

We would have cleared all terrorists from our country if only one agency was working on anti-Pakistan policy. .

Alternatively, Pakistan is a double-dealing state that could control such forces as the Haqqani network, BUT chooses not to because it believes that such terrorist groups are useful in its confrontation with India.

You mean in the same way US used Al-Qaeda for its confrontation with Soviet. . :coffee:

hmmm. . Well, because majority of people in Pakistan want to make Pakistan a True Islamic State rather than making it a secular state. Which, the US thinks will be a threat to its security and foreign policies. .

Are you saying an Islamic State is automatically an enemy of the U.S.?

Let the people of Pakistan decide her future. That's fine. That's not the issue. Terrorists who want to kill us (and people in U.K., Spain, Australia, France, Netherlands, etc) IS the issue.

Once they can decide what an Islamic state is .. and then agree on one implementation of it.

Pakistanis will shoot the yanks with the guns in their homes. Body bags will arrive in US probably by the order of thousands per month.

Yeah, brave Iraqis did similar this methods, it doesn't work effectively and physically. Let me give you example, is Pakistan people of 180 million to prevent Drones attacks daily? Nothing.

Think twice.

Just wanted to say, every single nation that gets invaded says this, "we are not so-and so." On topic, again, no. Truth seeker's post answers this.

Yea just try it and see... will be the last thing you ever wised for and plus you seem to be very excited about it aren't you well pal it won't happen .

US will not occupy Pakistan even if you importuned.
US would however like to influence events in and around Pakistan. If you are smart you will use that to help yourselves build a better future.
Please do not dwell in a world of imaginary fears. You have to enable future Pakistani generations to compete with highly educated and trained Indians, Chinese, Egyptians, Bangladeshis, Iranians, Afghans and Central Asians. You do not want to be left behind economically do you?

Dont worry ! We are not economically behind and wont be behind in future either.....just the sellouts in our govt are only behind.....Alhamdolillah!......:woot:

The kind of prosperity the US/NATO gave to IRAQ, Afghanistan and now giving to Libya......?......ummm......:what:

You guys make a solid point. I have stated here on this forum MANY times that all acts of terror is tragic. But the focus of the thread, and the question being asked was "Is the U.S. going to attack/occupy Pakistan? (no)" and "How do we make the U.S. disappear from the region?" And my response was "we're sticking around for now at least because the threat of terrorism remains."

We can't fix Pakistan's problems with organizations like the TTP and such. Only Pakistan can do that.

if ''occupý'' means boots on the ground -- then the answer is no. Pakistan's population is more than the combined populations of both Iraq & Afghanistan. The people of even the rural areas in the north were always known for their resistance to occupiers (e.g. Britishers) --but even in urban areas there are armed people who wouldnt tolerate occupation

if occupation means leverage -- then to some extent -- possibly. It goes down to the people Pakistani elect to be their leaders. If they choose weak ducklings, then yes it's possible. If they elect honest, disciplined and non-corrupt people --then NO its not possible.

US has an interest to maintain some presence in the general region. However i dont see them or any other countries willing or able to occupy Pakistan.

they sure werent able to do it for too long in other war-zones --whether it was Vietnam or Afghanistan.

the US would be best served by treating Pakistan like a partner or ''ally'' and both sides working to benefit from eachother...rather than pretending to be allies but having mutuallly shared miscomprehension and mistrust of eachother behind closed doors.

otherwise it becomes a toxic relationship; and lately it seems that is direction in which the 2 are headed....when relations become toxic, it is difficult to get out from that trend and it only worsens --like what happened with Iran.
