Totally a flame thread. The USA does not now, nor has it ever, wanted t o "occupy" Pakistan. The ONLY thing the USA is asking Pakistan to do is to expel the non-Pakistani fighting forces from its territory. In this world of hundreds of nations, such a request is only not possible to fulfill by nations that do not exercise sovereignty over their "supposed" territory. Most of such nations are labelled as "failed states". Pakistan is a hairs breadth away from being a failed state unless it can show that it controls FATA. Alternatively, Pakistan is a double-dealing state that could control such forces as the Haqqani network, BUT chooses not to because it believes that such terrorist groups are useful in its confrontation with India.

I once got my hands on an official US government file on the net (not wikileaks).

It was from 90s and it had each and every detail of the major ports in almost all the countries.

It had details right from the highest weight load possible for off-loading cargoes to the near precise time required for off-loading the heaviest cargo. The strength of the roads to and from the port to handle weight and the different warehouses available near the berths or the adjacent free zones for using them as stores or anything else if needed. The berth capacity to handle ships and what types of tug boats will be required to move any specific navy vessel and much much more.


All these details were in their one document dated somewhere in 90s, just imagine the terabytes of info with CIA and pentagon now.

Strong US foot-hold will never be good for South Asia in general. US will turn the South Asian countries against each other and will feast on the aftermath.

Pakistanis will shoot the yanks with the guns in their homes. Body bags will arrive in US probably by the order of thousands per month.

Inexperienced civilian resistance is not enough. We need to fill the technological gap between them and us. That can work.

Also, casualties won't be that high. No need to underestimate a battle-hardened strongest military in the world.

180 million people can do nothing if they are not prepared.

Afghanistan is a like a graveyard. It sucks you dry and discourages you psychologically.

Pakistan is a stable country with proper infrastructure like Iraq once was. Two entirely different cases.

Also, smart invaders always try to take advantage of internal weaknesses of nations they target. Pakistan has its internal weaknesses and CIA network over here knows about them. This is why ISI wants minimum CIA foot-hold here; not to allow this network to further strengthen and lay ground work for future course-of-actions.

Why should occupy Pakistan?

I have not understood the rationale.

Would they want more radicals to make their lives hell?

If it were a totalitarian or Communist regime, I would understand. They would massacre the lot and cleanse the population and all would be well......for them.

But the US? They would not have a place to hide if they did what a Communist regime can do.

You have to give it to the Communist regime. With highhandedness and total ruthless brutality, they have smashed the insurgency in Xinjaing. No whimper is heard from the jihadis. And they are changing the whole lot of population so that the Uighurs are the minority and it will be end to all the turmoil and separatism and jihad and all that!

A very neat and clever way.

The US cannot do so nor can any democracy.

if the destabilize pakistan. took control of our neuclear assets thats occupation for me.
once you are not able to fight India and Isrea (long term) thats it for America.
