TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy on Saturday took delivery of a large cargo of Nasir, a cruise missile developed by local experts for naval battles.
The IRGC Navy was officially equipped with the new homegrown missile in large quantities in a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi.

Speaking to reporters, Dehqan said Nasir can be fired as a coast-to-sea or sea-to-sea cruise missile, and can hit various naval targets, including military vessels or piers.

The cruise missile can be rapidly prepared for launch, enjoys high navigation precision, has great destructive power, can be fired from speedboats, and has anti-jamming features due to an advanced radar system, the minister added.

The homegrown cruise missile was unveiled by President Hassan Rouhani on April 15.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the defense sphere

. .
As stated in another thread these appear to have been fitted with jet engines which will have greatly extended the range of this missile

this picture show the clear success of miniaturization.
longer range
smaller size in diameter and length
smaller wings
have warhead with more destructive power

Are we gonna see shoulder launched anti ship missiles in the future?

Is Iran working on a hyperosonic cruise missile? I had heard that Iran was in the early stages of producing a Zircon (Russian Hypersonic missile) of their own.

That would definitely increase the strength of the naval forces as there is no defense against these types of missiles.

But none the less. The extension at the end and presumably upgraded internal guidance would lead credence to the Nasir being a new generation of the Nasr anti-ship cruise missile. It's accurate as hell as well.

Oh my bad I meant supersonic lol.

Most speculation revolves around the possibility that Iran copied the Sunburn (P-270 Moskit) missile. Supposedly Iran received a number of these at in unknown circumstances. The original sunburn had a top speed of Mach 3 and a range of up to 240 km...

I guess the real question is, can iran build a mach 3+ missiles?

I personally don't see why not. But I believe there is a specific type of engine required in order to go that fast.

Its well possible that the range of the Nasir is 120km like the Noor. More like Ghadr or even Ghadir should not be possible. The layout of the Nasir is like that of the Noor, just miniaturized not a complex COG driven design as on the Ghadr and Ghadir.

The Nasir also uses a new, smaller jet engine, only if it would be a turbofan we could expect ranges like that of the Ghadir.

The idea is good, the origial Nasr had a weight half of that of the Noor. The Nasir is somewhat heavier than the Nasr but likely just 20%.

So the Nasir offers Noor range performance at 65%, almost half, of its weight. As for the destructive power the Noor had a 170kg warhead and the Nasr and likely also Nasir have a 120kg warhead. The difference is not that much (30% less warhead weight) and can be compensated by the use of better explosives and warhead design.

Longer launch containers will be needed because unlike the Nasr, the Nasir has no integrated booster.

In effect it means that an "almost-Noor" can be now mounted on larger IRGC speedboats instead of a heavy Noor on a large FAC like the Peykan class.
