There is no harm in selling anything to KSA, they are true friends and there is absolutely no chance of us ever going to war with them. Iran on the other hand is not trustworthy, they have attacked our border posts, violated our air space and issued threatening statements to cross in to Pakistan and fight so called terrorists. There is a possibility, a remote one but still a possibility of having military skirmishes with them, so no equipment sale to them, unless we can develop extremely reliable and unbreakable secure kill switches within the supplied systems to ensure our supplied equipment can not be used against us.

But we are already training Iranians and Saudis we do regular joint naval exercises with them so why not sell them equipment?
