According to World Steel Association for the first 6 months of 2023 ,Iran is world's 7th largest steel producer. (Iran was no 10 in 2022)..credit to Raisi government for this achievement (reliable supply of electricity was the key).

ran’s non-oil export (excluding crude oil export) stood at 35.5 million tons worth $12.5 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-- June 21), registering a 1% and 5.9% year-on-year rise

I am not aware how steel is priced in Iran's domestic market...but this significant steel production increase indicates two things:

1- Iran's increased auto production ;

2- Iran's construction industry is ramping up ( 4 million National Housing project).

These are the largest consumers of steel . Two years ago The plans was to ramp up the steel production to 55 million ton so lets hope they make it.

Incredible waste and theft of Energy in Iran

• In the last 2 years Gasoline consumption in Iran has shot up 38 %..20% of this is just in last year
• Iran made $43 billion dollars selling oil last year but had to subsidize fuel by $80 billion dollars. so when an Iranian buys a liter of gas in Iran (@ 5 cents) first of all the gas itself is free and you are paying only half of its cost to produce (extraction and refining and transportation) .The other half is paid by the government (no wonder there is a line up of trucks on the Pakistan border to smuggle this free liquid gold out of Iran)
• Iranians use 5 to 6 time more fuel than the standard world average
• Iran soon will have to import Gas (meaning Government buys gas from foreign source at around $1,5 to 2 dollars and sell it in Iran for 5 cents!!)

And the great news:
there are no plans to fix this..: people who make millions from this arrangement are quite happy about it!.Here is the farsi text

به گزارش ایران آنلاین، در فروردین‌ماه سال گذشته، جواد اوجی، وزیر نفت، درباره روند افزایشی مصرف بنزین در کشور هشدار داد و تأکید کرد: ظرفیت پالایشی کشور در زمینه تولید بنزین و نفت‌گاز در حال نزدیک شدن به مقدار مصرف در کشور است و سالانه ۸۰ میلیارد دلار یارانه سوخت در کشور پرداخت می‌شود.
وی همچنین از افزایش سالانه ۱۰ تا ۱۲ درصدی مصرف سوخت مایع کشور خبر داده و گفته بود: هم‌زمان که باید به فکر افزایش ظرفیت پالایشی کشور باشیم، ضروری است از اجرای طرح‌های بهینه‌سازی مصرف در کشور به‌ویژه در بخش‌های خانگی و صنعتی غافل نباشیم.
در فروردین امسال هم علی‌اکبر نژادعلی، مدیرعامل شرکت ملی پخش فرآورده‌های نفتی ایران نیز اظهار کرد: از ابتدای فروردین‌ماه تا ۱۹ فروردین‌ماه، به‌طور میانگین ۱۱۱ میلیون و ۳۰۰ هزار لیتر بنزین در سراسر کشور مصرف شده است که این عدد در مقایسه با مدت مشابه پارسال (یکم تا نوزدهم فروردین‌ماه ۱۴۰۱) با ثبت میانگین مصرف روزانه ۱۰۲ میلیون لیتر بنزین، ۹ درصد افزایش مصرف را نشان می‌دهد.
نژادعلی در اردیبهشت ۱۴۰۲ از رشد ۱۰ درصدی مصرف بنزین در مقایسه با مدت مشابه سال قبل خبر داد و گفت: با توجه به هم‌ترازی بین تولید و مصرف، تاکنون واردات بنزین نداشتیم، اما سیر رشد مصرف بنزین در کشور عدد غیرمنتظره‌ای است به طوری که در سال ۱۴۰۱ در مقایسه با سال ۱۴۰۰ حدود ۲۰ درصد رشد مصرف داشتیم.
در خرداد ۱۴۰۲، شرکت ملی پالایش و پخش فرآورده‌های نفتی اعلام کرد: روزانه ۲۵۰ میلیون لیتر فرآورده نفتی در ایران مصرف می‌شود که با هر تراز جهانی و با هر کشوری مقایسه شود، بسیار بالا و ۵ تا ۶ برابر استاندارد دنیاست.
این موضوع در کشور سه برابر میانگین جهانی است که در سوخت‌های فسیلی از جمله گاز و فرآورده‌های نفتی این شدت بالاتر اسـت و سـالانه ۸۰ میلیارد دلار یارانـه سـوخت در کشـور پرداخـت می‌شـود.
در تیرماه ۱۴۰۲، وزارت نفت اعلام کرد: سالانه ۸۰ میلیارد دلار یارانه سوخت در کشور پرداخت می‌شود و این در شرایطی است که سال ۱۴۰۱ مجموع درآمدهای نفتی کشور ۴۳ میلیارد دلار بود، یعنی ایران حدود ۲ برابر درآمدهای نفتی خود را صرف پرداخت یارانه انرژی می‌کند.
البته این وضع تنها مختص فصل گرما نیست و در طول سال، به‌دلیل مساعد نبودن شرایط واحدهای صنعتی، خانگی، حمل‌ونقل و سایر موارد، بارها و بارها مصرف سوخت به مرحله رکوردشکنی ایران در میان سایر کشورهای جهان رسیده است.
مطابق اعلام شرکت ملی پالایش و پخش فرآورده‌های نفتی، روزانه ۲۵۰ میلیون لیتر فرآورده نفتی در کشور مصرف می‌شود که در مقایسه با دنیا، ۵ تا ۶ برابر بالاتر از استانداردهای تعریف‌شده جهانی است.
در ماه جاری (مرداد ۱۴۰۲)، جلیل سالاری، مدیرعامل شرکت ملی پالایش و پخش فرآورده‌های نفتی ایران گفت: مصرف بنزین کشور در روزهای گذشته اعدادی نظیر ۱۲۷ میلیون لیتر را ثبت کرده است و با توجه به میانگین کنونی مصرف روزانه ۱۱۴ میلیون لیتر بنزین در کشور، پیش‌بینی می‌کنیم این عدد با توجه به پیش‌رو بودن سفرهای تابستانی و ایام اربعین باز هم افزایش یابد که نیازمند مدیریت مصرف از سوی مردم است.

Solution was a smart electronic subsidization system to control the inflation for poor, but the required infrastructure didn't exist. Previous government should have created it (instead of 4200t Dollar), but they did the opposite , even destroyed the limited fuel rationing system. two f@cking million tax evasions were identified after Raeesi took the control, it's not because reformists couldn't do it, they didn't want to. it was all a sabotage in our economy, the more dire the situation, the more excuses to bow to U.S.

They delivered a hugely indebt government which couldn't even pay the next month's wages, read their own words during the first meeting between elected Raeesi and Rouhani's ministers:

یا رزم‌حسینی، وزیر وقت صمت می‌گوید: «در برق صنایع، ۶۰ درصد شب‌ها و ۳۰ درصد روزها برق هست. برق فولادمان هم ۵۰ درصد بعضی مواقع وصل است و بعضی مواقع قطع و الان تولیدمان کاهش داشته است.»
در ادامه اردکانیان، وزیر وقت نیرو می‌گوید: «جناب آقای رئیسی در جریان باشند که با توجه به کاهش نسبی دما، خوشبختانه فعلاً امکان اینکه تولید برق را افزایش بدهیم فراهم شده؛ منتها این افزایش مرتب نیست؛ یعنی ما حتی ۷۰ درصد تا ۸۰ درصد هم در بعضی مواقع قطعی داشتیم….»

جهانگیری مجدد در همان جلسه می‌گوید: «بزرگ‌ترین مشکل پیش روی ما، که قبلاً هم خدمت‌تان گزارش کردم، بحث انتقال نهاده‌ها و تدارک ورود آن به کشور است. درخصوص سایر کالاهای اساسی هم مشکل تأمین ارز را داریم. از این ۶میلیون و۳۲۸ هزارتنی که در بنادر وجود دارد و در اسکله‌ها و لنگرگاه‌ها ۹۸۴ میلیون دلار یا نزدیک به یک‌میلیارد دلار به ارز نیاز داریم. اینها کالاهایی است که ارز به آنها تخصیص داده نشده است.»

خاوازی وزیر وقت جهادکشاورزی صریحاً اذعان می‌دارد: «برای گندم ۱.۲ میلیارد دلار و برای روغن ۱.۱ میلیارد دلار نیاز داریم؛ علاوه بر ارزی که مربوط به نهاده‌های دامی است و اگر بخواهیم آن‌را ثابت نگه داریم، یک میلیارد دلار هم اینجا نیاز داریم.»

I do see the core problem in the existence of liberal economists (technocrats) in our governments, and for that I'm a critic of Raeesi for not trashing them down the toilet, but regardless of that, he has managed to recover the country into a positive line.

I agree that Rohanni did nothing good for Iran..but if the current government (rightfully) blames everything on previous government then nothing will improve (notice that 20% of fuel consumption occurred only last year during Raisi government).

According to a US economic report:
"Iran is the only country in the region that has the economical potential to become a supper power with a GDP of 5 to 6 Trillion dollars competing with European countries"

But what is the current government doing instead..using nation's energy and focus on stupid subjects such as " Hijab" ..dividing the population and making young brains to move to foreign lands (I think I have said enough about that hijab subject).

Raisi has two more years..and I hope he succeeds ,,but enemy wants Iran divided and he is falling into that trap.

That's irrelevant, As it's name suggests, this fund was made to facilitate national development through investing in (profitable) projects, it becomes a debt only when you use it's money for paying the wages, as Rouhani was doing.

I can think of few reasons why China would benefit from such act like :

• China is permanent member of security council.
• Current world order kicked Japan's influence out of China.
• During last decades China almost eradicated poverty.
• Current Iran-China relationship is not sustainable in long run.

And what China gains from current status-quo of our relationship ?

• Exclusive trade with Iran and this region.
• Option to remind west and others that their hands are not tied against their economic/political tools.
• Guarantee/improving their energy basket.

I think from China's perspective second group will help but first ones are essential needs.(personal opinion and it might be completely wrong)
