While I agree with your general point, I think the logic here will be to claim persecution on religious grounds. That option will not be available to Muslims, specifically the dominant sects. That would be similar in most countries in the world. While Europe & the U.S. may entertain claims by Pakistani Christians (just an example, could be other minorities also) on similar grounds, they are unlikely to accept the same (at face value) from, say, a Sunni Muslim from Pakistan.

funny thing is - the small number of hindus that are in Pakistan would be considered "dalit/untouchables" in india and treated far worse.....nobody is gonna beg them to stay or ask them not to leave. If they know what's in their best interests they'll do the right thing

as for sikhs - their holiest places are in Pakistan so regardless they'll be back...most of the pilgrims ive seen were always crying when air-conditioned touring buses took them back to the border b/c they got VIP treatment in Pakistan whereas they are just regular nobodies in india

Ahmadi, shia both were for separate Muslim Homeland. They are responsible for whatever good or bad comes out of it. Srilanka was never part of India.

Tibetan, Buddhist and Ahemadis are always well come. Shias are in sizable quantity to defend themselves. They do not face as much discrimination as Hinud, Ahemadis etc faces. So shias are out of question.

What I am saying is if we want to ease the visa norms then it should be applied to all the rest. Whether Shias are eligible or not we may leave it to personal preferences as of now.
