I disagree with your position because it is based on the premise that culture/society never evolves. It does, and that is what people are afraid of, whether they are in the Northeast of India or Germany or Nigeria.

The correct response should be, cultures always get enriched by other cultures, and they should not fear "others". The concept of the nation state really added more fuel to the fire (than it needed), but emphasizing nationhood as something that was primary, and therefore its concept (read as culture/language etc), needed to be protected and maintained.

If you were to dig further into the history of the culture in the Northeast, they did evolve over time, perhaps not as rapidly, but they did. And with the advent of information (phone/internet/tv) these cultures will evolve further without even the existence of other cultures within their midst.

Positive change is a good thing, but that's not what poor migrants being.

The highlighted part is not at all true, friend. No one in my state is against Indians of any ethnicity, we are a multicultural state. Some of my best friends in med college were from North and South India. Every Indian citizen is welcomed to the North East India as we are outside of our region. I have once told you that the singer, Nahid Afrin, has said that when she was participating in Indian Idol Junior, some Assamese called her a "Miya", though she is as Assamese as you.

Let us remember Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar, M.M.Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh who were all assassinated by Sangh people.

Your figures are incorrect. Indian Express has given names and out of 36 dead , 24 were muslims. So not possible to reach your figures.
