Foxbat over Pakistan the facts & fiction

That is a big piece of news you have let out in public. Wow and wow again!!Was there a purge in PAF after it and how many heads rolled?Any info that you can share would be appreciated.

There were no heads to roll in PAF. PAF controllers tried in vain to contact the aircraft, no response came. The aircraft was on the boundary of our radar coverage. I think the pilots fought bravely and pulled the aircraft back towards Pakistan, and thats when the escorting Migs from Bhuj took it down. The scramble from Masroor was too far away. PN washed all records, and the story finished. I think Farasat Zarrar and Azhar tried their best to take back control and succeeded. The key questions remain. Who sent them there? Why was radio silence (sabotage)? Why the violent manoeuvres? (struggle onboard)? This remains to be the saddest event in my aviator career.

What nobody has ever said out in public, that the ATL-1 was hijack. When the pilots overcame the mutiny, and the aircraft escorting realised, they shot it down. Indians then infiltrated in Jaati to pick up the wreckage, just to show the world. All crew dead, medals given, chapter closed.
My god! And why disclose this now?

This is not really credible at all

So why did they start fighting inside the plane in the first place
Take your references and questions about credibility and take a hike. This is of no concern to you and you are out of place to ask anything. So you can bask in your glory but stay out. AND I MEAN IT.

@Oscar why are you allowing this guy to post craps without any credible evidence. he dont have any valid links to support his claims. Just I talk to this guy and that guy. He just make up things from thin air. Or I suggest you to open a new thread with the title "Fiction" so that every one can post their tall claims.

It is a discussion on actual and not fictional events. Unlike many we hear otherwise

I maintain that this is my opinion. I was not onboard the ATL. It is my assessment of what may have happened.

My god! And why disclose this now?

I am not disclosing anything, not have any "Top Secret" files at my Islamabad/London abode. This is my opinion and assessment of the events.

Not sure about medal but he was certainly awarded, what's more, it's even listed by them as an IAF kill.

Source it.

Some posts of yours border on ridiculous ...

There's nothing more ridiculous than people without knowing basics of military aircraft just copy pasting to win an argument,
The subject was a MiG-29 pilot which was deployed as a fighter/ interceptor by the IAF hence no chance of it carrying out any ground strikes.... in any case you should have read his citation i posted, post#294, which clearly mentions the details of award....as 229 Sqn MiG-29 For CAP and escort missions.

7 days, after which the nukes go live.

So accoring to you the aircraft was shot by PAF?

@Bilal Khan 777 , Sir, if there was even a small chance of any mutiny, the Indians would have had a strong excuse for the outcome ,....either there was a struggle in the cockpit and pilot lost control or in the ensuing struggle, the plane violated Indian airspace and so on.....but the fact the then Indian PM, Mr Vajpayee was shown looking at the wreckage for that Kodak moment, makes it too obvious the intent.....making him look strong for the elections and to lift the IAF's tail after loosing several aircraft during the conflict.

So for you Indian PM taking a picture with the wreckage is more important to be discussed than the "Hijack" theory???

@Bilal Khan 777 Could you elaborate more (as the info you provided here never heard of )

Dude as Bilal Khan said, ''the pilot eventually managed to gain control''......so does that mean one or more of the trainees on board were trying to hijack the plane and hoping pilots would casually fly them into India.....yea right.

Why rain on their parade? Pride must be salvaged, far better to attribute losses to internal strife or some kind of underhand sabotage then to give enemy due credit for vigilance.

Well right now for me it is a story, and the way bilal khan has explained or ended his post, i thought there are more to it..... But my post was specific to you, as you found more interest on the photo than this event from a guy who worked in PAF (may be as he said sad day in his aviation career )
