What is wrong, is wrong and must be called upon. Such posture is not even close to our sittings in home with a guest from outside. Issue is not leg upon leg but when you point the shoe sole to someone's face. Other postures are okay. But a total lay back posture like SMQ aka choudhary style is not welcome by everyone.

Dude.... Just don't seek attention by quoting me and speaking such none sense.
Confirmation dictates that the caption with such picture is ill intended since some rich boyees having some kind of elite complex issue here. Moreover, it is being used to not to just for blame game by political rivals but also maligns Pakistan on diplomatic front. Non verified accounts and random people are not credible and helps to understand that what would have happened.

Saudis took to social media to express their disapproval of the Pakistani FM's seating position stating his demeanor was 'the height of foolishness and ignorance'.

Saudis have spoken of their outrage over the "insulting" seating position of Pakistan's foreign minister during a meeting with his Saudi counterpart on Tuesday.

Social media users in the kingdom slammed Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for his posture when he received his Saudi counterpart, Nawaf bin Said al-Malki, in Islamabad.

Qureshi can be seen sitting with one leg crossed and the other pointing in Al-Malki's direction, which was deemed offensive by many Saudis.

The ministers met to discuss current events in the region and "review bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries", according to the Saudi Embassy in Pakistan.

But Saudis and Arabs saw the meeting in a different light.

"Pakistani foreign minister receives Saudi ambassador in Pakistan with unmatched hospitality," said one user.




"If there is no strong reason (medical) for the Pakistani foreign minister to receive the kingdom's ambassador in this way, then this is the height of impudence and foolishness and ignorance of the basics of diplomatic protocol," one Twitter user said. "Frankly, if I were one of the Saudi ambassadors, I would have left,"

Another social media user wrote: "Rude, thoughtless and undiplomatic behaviour of the [Pakistani] Minister of Foreign Affairs towards the [Saudi] ambassador... admired how he kept silent about this insult!"

Others compared the "insulting" way Qureshi received Al-Malki to his "polite" demeanour while receiving other officials.

Apparently we do need some lessons in diplomatic norms and mannerisms. As an FM I would be most aware of other cultures and it would be upto my protocol officer to advise me of it. However, diplomatic gaffes happen on and off with Pakistanis not unique in offenses.

In the west yes.

Now in diplomatic circles there are certain etiquette that one must follow. This posture is a gangster posture. Not one of an educated representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
But who teaches manners in Pakistan??

If someone has met saudis even the ordinary lot you would know how condescending these people are when they talk to others. Either they dont see you worthy to talk to or even if they talk they have no manners. I had my fare share of Saudis Emaratis and Qataris all have a stick up their arse where they keep showing you branded clothing.
