Pk is just following the trend that's engulfing other Islamic nations, there's a section that feels Religion should be foremost than a country's law, and there's a moderate section that feels that they have to follow the laws of the country and religion is a personal matter.

It seems the west's hell bent on seeing where all this will finally lead to - they hold steadfast to their freedom of speech and want to see what the Muslim world can do about it. It seems to be a test to find out what the Muslim is made of, will this lead to a breakdown in the Muslim world? will the Sharia triumph over democratic laws or vice versa? What is the culmination of this? will they cop out, what's the actual resolve of the Muslim?, will this wash over eventually giving rise to ridicule for ever? or will something actually rise out of this?

One thing's for sure - you are being played.

I think certain elements in the west purposely wants to see rioting and us going nuts and running our economy down. There is a problem to the generic free speech argument that will just not ever apply to the blasphemy against Allah or the last Prophet - the issue is not of respect, but of love.

This behavior that mystifies non-Muslims is often referred to by Muslims as Ishq-e-Rasool. A person is love is ready to sacrifice everything in their efforts to prove their love and commitment. Every Muslim loves the Prophet - and if you've not been trained in larger concepts of life, this love will overpower all other logic and you'll see these things repeated each time.

I see it this way, that when you are ready to sacrifice everything for the Prophet's honor, then sacrifice even your anger as his honor is in following his example - his sunnat - of repeated forgiveness and kindness to his worst enemies.

Shariah is not the cause of this, not by a long shot. Its a love unrestrained.

Yes I agree its more about sentiments in this case rather than Sharia.

So now this minister is going to give that money from his pockets or is it going to go to someone out of Pakistani people's tax money?

I think Pakistanis should ask the minister to show his accounts as to how he can distribute public money for his personal grudge.

PM house distances itself from Bilor statement

ISLAMABAD: The prime minister house Sunday announced that they have nothing to do with the statement of the Federal Railway Minister, Gulam Ahmad Bilor pledging award for the killer of the producer of the blasphemous film, .

It may be recalled that the Federal Railway Minister, Ghulam Ahmad Bilor talking media yesterday had announced an award of $1,00,000 for whosoever would kill the producer of the profane film.

PM house spokesman said that Ghulam Ahmad Bilor was a leader of ANP and the prime minister would be talking to the ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali as regards future strategy. The spokesman didn’t rule out any action against the railway minister, but presently he would continue working as usual.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party (ANP) spokesman Zahid Khan told Geo News, “We believe in non-violence and have always talked of peace and stability.” He said that the declaration of award by Ghulam Ahmad Bilor was his personal act and it has nothing to do with the party policy. An explanation would be sought from him about this statement.

$100,000 thats it?

What a cheap skate.

In order to assassinate a US national and flee from US law enforcement and live in a non-extradition country, a person would need atleast $1,000,000 dollars.

This bozo needs to steal more money from Pakistan to fill his coffers and then offer a bigger bounty for this buffoonish stunt.

Democracy has been a disaster for Pakistan. Time to bring back the Secular Army Generals.

The question will arise if it ever comes to paying the reward money.
Putting a bounty on someone's head doesn't cost a dime, earning it and paying out is a different ball game....Salman Rushdie will testify to that.

Bilour belongs to a secular and anti-Pakistan party who admires Raja Dahir etc as their heroes in sub-continent instead Muhammad Bin Qasim etc... one should not take this man serious but what can one do to these media outlets who doesn't let go an opportunity to bully Pakistan and it's image.

Anyway, A US Senator while in India announces bounty over the head of Hafiz Saeed, and the whole media was out to justify this bounty. Now, Bilour who is a Minister, out of his immense idiocy and as a political stunt, announces bounty over the head of that film maker.... my question is why wasn't the US senator condemned in the same manner as Bilour is being? A Senator and a Minister announcing bounties means they're states sponsor of terrorism?

You are misinformed or typically lying. The bounty on terrorist hafiz saeed was for providing evidence against him, not for killing him.

Its evident for decades now that your understanding of the term ''state sponsor of terrorísm'' is flawed.

Did US Had jurisdiction in Pakistan where they Killed dOsama ?
was Osama as US citizen ?
was osama Trialed ?
was Dr Aafia a US citizen ?

F.O.X, you raise valid points here.

What the US did was wrong; the drone attacks are wrong. The US gets away with it because might makes right. Simple as that.

That still doesn't justify what this Bilour guy did.

That's not enough... He should have been dismissed to show that Pakistan government will not honor such a bounty.

At the very least he should have been asked to retract this statement.

To be able to keep saying US was wrong, we must not ever follow their example of the state killing people without trial.

 folks equating AK 47 totting terrorists being killed in unilateral strikes to murdering a film maker on the grounds of making a tasteless movie..

Hate him for his corruption but support this move and in fact Muslim governments should form a combined intelligence agencies and start covert operations and eliminate those who do these kind of acts in their own countries

AK47 totting terrorists? Says who? 99% of the people killed by the Drone strikes may have been not guilty of any crime.

The BIG problem with Bilour's statement is that he is sending a message that it is OK to kill people if you feel they have insulted you.

The American guy is safe and will likely never be touched, but any Pakistani who gets accused of blasphemy will be killed by some hothead because this idiot minister has announced that it is OK.

And note he said he'll pay USD 100,000 for the next guy too... In my books hes sealed his fate to rot in jail but here we have him not even being dismissed from office?
