Erdoğan not happy with India-Middle East-Europe Corridor

I can't believe anyone would take this seriously.


As was said before, if an alternative to the Suez Canal was needed, and one was willing to make part of the journey by truck through Israel, then one can simply go from the Mediterranean by ship to Israel, and then transport it by truck to the Gulf of Aqaba, which leads to the Red Sea.
This is not just an alternative for Suez. It is a corridor optimised for the benefit of the participating countries. The route you are suggesting would not help Saudi and UAE in any way and also be longer and more expensive. Also, trucks vs trains /ships ?

The Chinese foreign ministry seems to welcome this trade route apparently, when they sent a reply to PTI's question (Press Trust of India).
Even the Pakistani generals have stopped talking about CPEC. Maybe China itself has decided to cut its losses and abandon CPEC.

Instead of going through the suez canal this corridor will take days longer, be more expensive, and end up in a Chinese owned port anyway.

This is just a Saudi attempt to make global trade revovle around them and Pajeets going "Phul Sapport saar"

No they haven’t. That’s what you Indians are hoping lol.

The first phase was building highways, motorways, dams, nuclear plants, coal plants, solar plants etc and building gwadar port free zone and activating the port for trade. These projects have been successfully completed and were pre-requisites to enable connectivity capacity and capability

The second phase has just started and it will focus on building economic zones throughout the country for Chinese companies to move here. Moreover, corporate agriculture, railways up gradation and science and technology will be focussed

CPEC’s primary purpose is to cater Middle Eastern and African markets. For Europe we have an active Pakistan-Iran-Turkiye corridor with a functioning railway line

I think Mr Erdoğan will be troubled by India's visions once people back there start sh*ting in the privacy of their homes.

This isn't about China though, it's about connecting India and the Middle East to Europe, and vise versa.

China may want to use Turkey as a trade route. Good for you I guess lol.

This proposal literally has the containers travel through the Israel leg on trucks as well.


Container goes by sea to Israel, travels by Truck in Israel to the Rail in either Jordan or Saudi Arabia, travels by rail to UAE, and then gets shipped by sea to India.

No lol, there is a train route from Haifa to Beit Shean which borders Jordan.

The plan is to connect it to a train system in Jordan (I have no idea if it already exists or going to exist)

A project where a ship leaving the Mumbai port goes directly to the Pireus port would make more sense than this.
You don't need to know rocket science to predict that the logistics cost of a product passing through 4 ports and a railway will increase x4 times. This project will never come into reality because it will make a standard Indian product more expensive than a Chinese product.

I still don't get how this would be any different to transportation today. Do ships not sail from India to SA? Do ships not sail from Israel to Europe?

What am I missing here?
