Polygamy is a disgraceful practice. It should be banned throughout the world.

In my country polygamy is almost non existent due to strict laws. Here A guy needs to take written permission from his first wife and needs to go through extensive legal procedure if he wishes to have a second wife.

Moreover, polygamous men r looked down upon in our culture.

But how many of you guys go round behind your wife to bang anything that moves including paying for hookers. So when you speak get your facts straight. Its better for a man to be responsible and have a 2nd wife than an irresponsible cheat.

laws can only be reinforced if the populace have an understanding of them.

A ban is a strict measure meant for strict times. There is provision within the Islamic law that this can be done.

But 80%+ of Egyptians don't care about banning Polygeny or not...

U won't find any problem if a guy has not only second but 3rd or 4th wife . Then again, u r entitled to have ur opinion and can practice it in real life.

IMO a guy should only marry again if his first wife dies or they get separated.

Someone who wants to take service from a hooker will take the service regardless of the no of wife he has. If he doesn't get satisfied with his first wife and starts paying for hookers, he'll do that even if he has two wives. So, that's a moot point.

What are the ills? that current laws don't protect from...whatever in Islam or Modern Laws in Egypt?

-Man shall pay Mahr (Dowry) For the Bride "Only" whatever the amount she ask.
