The burqa is one of Islam's biggest PR disasters.

It perpetuates the global belief that Muslims are backward (even medieval) and their belief system extremely misogynistic.

Instead of thrashing their chests about what white Christian countries are doing (not to mention Iron Brothers), Muslims across the world should ban the burqa themselves and redeem their image. At least a small part.

Their women would thank them for it. Because now they would not need to smile and swelter under black cloaks and then claim they are doing it out of free will as "good Muslims" while hostile beady male eyes from home and without look on.

Burqa full face cover is a borrowed imposed ideology. The purpose has always remained not to attract attention but this burqa the way it is worn and the way it looks ....... attracts. There are many reasonable ways of dressing modestly and avoid unwanted attention.
