As expected, You only support laws that enforce the niqab, but not laws that ban them.

Noone harms anyone by not wearing the niqab.
Wearing the niqab is supporting the enforcing of niqab, whether you like it or not.

Personally, I am for a ban on uniforms in public areas, making it illegal to express a political or religious view through clothing.
This means that you can carry niqab as long as it does not become a neccessity.

We have had enough of these types:

We have the same rules for alcohol consumption, if a few cannot handle the stuff,
we request limitations for everyone, to ensure innocents are not harmed.

Need to educate people to become more literate and civilized in some 'education camps' following the chinese model.

Remember this. Whenever in a Muslim-majority country which is governed by a progressive/socialist system ( say Libya or Syria or Afghanistan ) the government has discouraged or banned the burqa, it is the Western governments who supported the burqa supporters in those countries and gave refuge, money, military training etc to those scums.

Western governments are hypocrites. They should admit publicly their support to the burqa promoters.

The burqa is one of Islam's biggest PR disasters.

It perpetuates the global belief that Muslims are backward (even medieval) and their belief system extremely misogynistic.

Instead of thrashing their chests about what white Christian countries are doing (not to mention Iron Brothers), Muslims across the world should ban the burqa themselves and redeem their image. At least a small part.

The lungi is pretty crude. But the dhoti is a civilizational dress. Like the sari.

The burqa is not remotely connected to this land or its civilization. It is a desert artefact imposed on the people along with a foreign theology in the name of the "right" way to dress.

If such is the case, then the right way to dress should be worn where it is the culture.

Not where it's alien.

A 28-year-old woman became the first person in Denmark to be fined under a new law which prohibits wearing garments that cover the face in public after an incident at a shopping center on Friday.

Danish news agency Ritzau reported that police were called to a shopping center in Horsholm, a city of 46,000 located north of Copenhagen, to confront a woman wearing a niqab garment covering her face.

After police were called, they found the woman had been illegally wearing a niqab in public and after she removed it issued a fine of 1,000 Danish kroner, or $156, Sky News reported.

Denmark's facial covering law went into effect on Wednesday, and brings the country in line with similar laws in France and Belgium that prohibit full-body burqas, as well the niqab — Muslim dress which only shows the eyes. Both are rare in Denmark.

Justice Minister Soeren Pape Poulsen has previously said that it will be up to police officers to use their "common sense" when they see people violating the law.

The government has contended the law is not aimed at any religion and does not ban headscarves, turbans or the traditional Jewish skull cap.


The Danish law allows people to cover their face when there is a "recognizable purpose" like cold weather or complying with other legal requirements, such as using motorcycle helmets, according to the Associated Press

Anyone forcing a person to wear garments covering the face by using force or threats can be fined or face up to two years in prison.
