because we just need to blow few bridges and it will be akhnoor and 1965 again.
The most stupid thing I saw on pdf
Why would you wanna waste water just like that and why would anyone bust the dams
Just capture the territory and the dam + water reservoir is yours
Yes it is a strong structure under heavy pressure British destroyed German dam with much less fire power.
it will mean war with china because it start flowing from china including brahmaputra river.A great idea indeed but suppose India captures the area from where sindu river is flowing then?
They used a totally different technique. They didn't bombed dam. It was a much smaller dam with old technology.
Other side too have tictics according to changing scenaro. We can use misiles to destroy these tank as the terrain dont support tank movement these tanks will be sitting ducks.Waah ..armchair Journail.
Khoob kahi, you just won entire Kashmir from behind your computer. Wonder why Pakistan army could never accomplish it.
Where as, in real world.
Army changes tack, puts tanks at Akhnoor
Chammb-Jaurian sector saw pitched battles during ’65, ’71 Indo-Pak wars

New Delhi, September 25
India has reorganised an Army division to hold tanks and armoured vehicles in its arsenal and located it to tackle threats from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the lower parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The division is tasked with countering the threat in the Chammb-Jaurian sector, west of Akhnoor.
The area is of immense strategic importance. During the 1965 and 1971 wars, Pakistan had tried to run its armoured columns through these fertile plains located smack on the LoC in an attempt to cut off India’s access to Kashmir, resulting in pitched tank battles.

The existing 10th Infantry Division of the Indian Army based at Akhnoor has now been converted into “Rapids” or Reorganised Army Plains Infantry Divisions. It will hold two regiments of tanks (around 100) and another two regiments of mechanised armoured vehicles (100). The Army uses the Russian-built BMP as armoured vehicles.
This will be the first of the series under Army’s Northern Command. The first ones came up at locations under the Western Command in the late 1980s. Former Army Chief General K Sundarji (retd) is credited with the creation of “Rapids”.
Each of “Rapids” also consists of two infantry brigades, artillery elements, a reconnaissance and support battalion, an engineer regiment, a signals regiment and latest surveillance with target acquisition equipment.
On September 1, 1965, the Pakistan army had launched “Operation Grand Slam” to take control of the Akhnoor bridge in a bid to cut off the Nowshera-Rajouri-Poonch area from Jammu. In 1971, the tactic was repeated.

Pakistan treaded in 23 miles deep from 1st to 5th September, and fell 4 miles short of Akhnoor, the Spearhead unit (13L) was at Devipur when the Op got stalled. The attack didn't fail, rather IA Op Riddle and Nepal diverted the PA war effort. At least research before speaking.
Akhnoor is plains. That is why Indian has a RAPID - Reorganized Army Plains Infantry Divisions deployed there, which is basically 2 armored regiments consisting of over 200 amored vehicles and and an entire infantry division permanently stationed there.
1965, Pakistan had 6 to 1 advantage against India in this sector, even then could not capture Akhnoor.
Even to theoretically achieve those kind odds again, Pakistan will need 6 infantry divisions, and 12 armored regiments. Too bad, you only have a total of 19 infantry divisions and 2 armored divisions in total.
Who will defend rest of Pakistan?
1.that cruise missile will need to fly at a very precise path
2. the British actually attacked mohne dam from UPSTREAM ( more difficult but more effective )
3. the spin bomb actually exploded at the bottom of the dam to cause max damage , i doubt surface strikes would cripple the structure
get lost .... troll

In 71 this area was guarded by an IA div and even then PA secured till Chhamb with a single division advance.
Now since we have organised our forces into defensive and offensive formations, you won't expect a diversion like in 65, so treading into Akhnoor is very much possible.
The IA 10th RAPID has 124 tanks.
Most of IA gains were in desert, undefended and the major resistance faced by was Pak Rangers. If they had some worth you'd have gotten better gains at Simla. Pakistan also gained in Sulaimanke, Hussainiwala, Pulkanjri, Kassowal, opp Khalra. In 65, Pakistanis had 6 to 1 advantage.
In 71, it was just a lone infantry division defending the Akhnoor sector. What ever area Pakistan won in the Chamb sector, were allowed to remain with Pakistan, as the area was hardest to defend (areas of more strategic importance in Kargil and Chickens neck were exchanged in return)
Pakistan always had strike and holding corps in its army.
You do not have element of surprise in Akhnoor sector. Going against a well entrenched enemy which has 2 armored regiments, 2 mechanized regiments and 1 infantry division will take a lot of your resources.
While Pakistan is committing major portion of its army in Ahkhnoor, India army can gain a lot of ground in other sectors.
Just like, how in 71, Pakistan gained just 126 Square kilometers Chamb but ended up loosing 3500 Square kilometers in West Pakistan.
Making any gains by Pakistan in Akhnoor sector worthless(also because Akhnoor in not the only lifeline for Kashmir anymore).
Shhh! Don't let them know the secret! If they bomb one dam, we will open all flood gates of all dams.
