If you remember correctly being a port and being once a capital of Pakistan helped it a lot to gain this all.
It saw fruits of Ayub era.

Infra in place is built by State itself not common dwellers.
Lahore is not a port city.
Karachi is capital of Sindh province,ask local Govt about it, Punjab has nothing to do with it.It's not fault of Punjab or Punjabis in General if rest of population is not ready to change or work.
For 2018-19
provincial revenue of Punjab estimated at Rs388.4bn that of Sindh at 240.7bn,that normally goes for dev funding,do the maths.
Karachi has elected MQM again and again and Sindh has bestowed PPP,it's not fault of Punjab.Just make Shabaz CM for 5 years and see what happens,even Buzdar would do the magic.

Bro, actually a city with a lot of population, with a sea port, industries comparatively high HDI will of course generate more GDP, will have a higher per capita incomes, and will pay more taxes.

Approximately 50 percent of the population of Karachi belongs to people of other provinces who have come to make Karachi their home. They also contribute in the revenue generation and tax payments as much as Karachi born residents. There's nothing to compare with other cities.. actually when we compare just on the basis of incomplete information, it creates hate between different people.

If data of relative incomes and taxes by cities is available, we can do a good analysis. Even then we will have to take into consideration the tax exemptions and tax brackets as well. If after that we find that a particular city is not paying tax, we can mark it as an outlier. Collecting this kind of data and then analyzing it is very difficult, specially when we have an excellent department of statistics..

Before that, commenting on single performance indicator is just useless and only creates animosity and we should avoid it.

Regarding the development of Karachi, I think most of our brothers from Punjab also agree that Karachi is being neglected. Why then we want to shoot the messenger? Everyone knows that the development budget is not spent on Karachi by PPPP. It has nothing to do with Punjab or KP.

I believe that when the development budget will not go into the pockets of PPP goons, we will see a lot of positive changes in the infrastructure, health, education and other metropolitan services. And PPP has not even spent on other cities of Sindh. If you go to Sukkur or Larkana, you will thank Allah that you are living in Karachi. Does Punjab or KP stop PPP from spending on interior Sindh? No.

I pray to Allah, may He get rid of PPP because apparently, our state doesn't have power to tame them.

What is punjab here? Basically Lahore. Look at the size of Islamabad and tax collection. Basically all of telecom companies have their HQ in Islamabad and many others.

300 of companies pay 70% of Pakistan tax. I mean tiny Islamabad is doing half of what Karachi collect despite port.

Punjab has big industrial cities such as faislabad sialkot gujranwala multan ...

Tolerant and open? Are you that naive come in karachi and see urself who is open and tolerant having all sort of ppl around Pakistan doing business etc but that is another topic. Open and tolerant if you think punjab is then why they dont pay taxes? Why they want others to pay their tax of share? Tolerant, indeed, that's why we are taking the BS of some for the sake of our country from quite a while now. We produce almost everything that is exported out of this country. And import the most for which we pay taxes (hub is karachi- hence it's paid there). Buy the most from the multinationals who run their businesses from Karachi (for which we pay tax again and is shown in Karachi's returns). Hence those inflated numbers on which this whole narrative is based on is a lie.

I know.. I visited Karachi recently and have seen it in its worst condition. But believe me, its PPP that's to blame.

We have hundred thousand reasons to hate Sharifs, but Shahbaz did a good job in Punjab.. and now whenever I meet with a KP resident in UAE, he says that last PTI tenure has changed a lot of things in KP....

Karachi's problems, unfortunately, can't be solved until PPP will continue to rule in Sindh.. It's a fact and we have to learn to live with it for the rest of our remaining lives.

Because of PPP.. they play nationalist card when there is even a little talk of separating Karachi even administratively..

You can't even create a province with the name "South Sindh".

If PPP is removed, someone else might takeover.. Development funds of Karachi are too attractive to be left for an honest administration.

The only way Karachi can see some development is by creating another province.. and we know that it will never happen.

There is a law already for article 142 or whatever. What are they waiting to turn karachi into desert? They don't want to do it simple is that otherwise where in world this happens in democracy that a party which can't even win 1-2 seat becomes ruler of the city.
