He is saying because Punjab government took loan from China and Punjab is part of Pakistan
So entire Pakistan will have to return this loan
Peshawar metro is being built with loan from Asian development bank
Every provincial government takes loans Punjab and KP are part of Pakistan so Pakistan will be paying these loans

Here are the official numbers of tax payments from different region of Pakistan where Karachi share is bigger than even complete Punjab

What is punjab here? Basically Lahore. Look at the size of Islamabad and tax collection. Basically all of telecom companies have their HQ in Islamabad and many others.

300 of companies pay 70% of Pakistan tax. I mean tiny Islamabad is doing half of what Karachi collect despite port.

When PTI touts were running election campaign in 2013, i vividly remember these touts stating that Karachi should vote for the party which makes the national government and not local party like MQM which is limited to Karachi and they will get their issues solved, sindh govt was not discused, only karachiites were begged to vote PTI to inprove their situation, what im getting is Punjabi leadership is true to its homeland and works for it when it makes the federal govt, but karachi voting ''national party'' or the ''local party'' doesnt make any difference. I also remember PMLN's promises that if they came to power, would run bullet train from karachi to peshawar, a tiny bus mass transit was planned but after 5 years of PMLN govt, that tini tiny mass transit couldn't be completed and has only become a headache for the commuters.

so what other option does Karachi have now as 'national party' manjan also used up? some how dream that 90 percent karachiites make up national assembly so that they are powerful enough to work for Karachi, dream that another musharraf like karachi based dictator overtakes the country and work for karachi, or karachi assumes a semi autonomous status, been able to collect its own taxes and use it for its own benefits irrespective of federal involvement.

Now PTI tout govt claiming that it is still unable to do anything because of PPP in sindh govt just has multitude of excuses that they cannot deliver because of such and such reasons.

Someone is so butt hurt while seeing the actual contribution of Karachi to the rest of the Pakistan.

Despite of your nooni league tried its best to shift all the investment from Karachi to Punjab but Karachi is still the financial and commercial of the country. And if its not been Karachi your Punjab will be a land locked place not better than Afghanistan. So better respect others before other get tired of your sick mentality and actually start thinking of getting rid of you.

Thanks to Allah we Karachi people are more sensible and are contributing more and more towards Pakistan and it is honor for me to be a part of that city.

Bro, actually a city with a lot of population, with a sea port, industries comparatively high HDI will of course generate more GDP, will have a higher per capita incomes, and will pay more taxes.

Approximately 50 percent of the population of Karachi belongs to people of other provinces who have come to make Karachi their home. They also contribute in the revenue generation and tax payments as much as Karachi born residents. There's nothing to compare with other cities.. actually when we compare just on the basis of incomplete information, it creates hate between different people.

If data of relative incomes and taxes by cities is available, we can do a good analysis. Even then we will have to take into consideration the tax exemptions and tax brackets as well. If after that we find that a particular city is not paying tax, we can mark it as an outlier. Collecting this kind of data and then analyzing it is very difficult, specially when we have an excellent department of statistics..

Before that, commenting on single performance indicator is just useless and only creates animosity and we should avoid it.

Regarding the development of Karachi, I think most of our brothers from Punjab also agree that Karachi is being neglected. Why then we want to shoot the messenger? Everyone knows that the development budget is not spent on Karachi by PPPP. It has nothing to do with Punjab or KP.

I believe that when the development budget will not go into the pockets of PPP goons, we will see a lot of positive changes in the infrastructure, health, education and other metropolitan services. And PPP has not even spent on other cities of Sindh. If you go to Sukkur or Larkana, you will thank Allah that you are living in Karachi. Does Punjab or KP stop PPP from spending on interior Sindh? No.

I pray to Allah, may He get rid of PPP because apparently, our state doesn't have power to tame them.

Also this talk of Karachi being biggest contributor just because of ports is not entirely true. 33 of the 50 highest tax payers in the country all hail from Karachi, and I'm sure not all of them are working at the port or in import/export. It is easy cop out by Punjabis for their laziness and lack of contribution to the country.

If orange line is project of provincial government then you shouldn't have any problem with it it's not responsibility of Punjab government to work for Karachi or Larkana
Any provincials government can take loans from China world bank etc

actually PMLN planned the ''dry port'' so that import duty on the goods is not collected from Karachi even though its imported from karachi but in respective Punjab based areas. That speaks volumes about the Punjabi nationalism and the Punjab centric policies of PMLN.

Lets for instance if Sindh becomes independent of the federal, will ''Punjab government'' still be collecting the custom tax and other duties or the sindh government?

Still remember how Karachi business community distrusted Punjab centric PMLN and ishar dar and even reputed newspaper commented on new appointed of miftah ismail and how Punjab centric the last PMLN's crony ishhaq dar was.

Nobody in Karachi considers either zubair umer or asad umer as karachiites, but typical Punjab based people, so what zubair umer uttered as sindh governor typically reflected his background and political centrism rather than anything factual.

And in reality those people who are buying these products are paying these taxes
