Contribution of Karachi in Tax - FBR Official numbers

actually PMLN planned the ''dry port'' so that import duty on the goods is not collected from Karachi even though its imported from karachi but in respective Punjab based areas. That speaks volumes about the Punjabi nationalism and the Punjab centric policies of PMLN.

Lets for instance if Sindh becomes independent of the federal, will ''Punjab government'' still be collecting the custom tax and other duties or the sindh government?

There is a reason why Karachiites will even vote for a dog than these Sharifs. As can be seen from the 2018 elections where a second tier PTI leader beat the president of PML-N despite getting full support from MQM who withdrew their candidate and asked their voters to vote for PML-N.

Islamabad basically get Rs20b in so called return. Because its stupid to believe Islamabad actually generate 25% of taxes of Pakistan. But people here have anti-Pakistan agenda so they have to repeat same lies again and again.

Collect tax all over and spend on favortie and top of that exempt them to pay tax alsom

I don't know about taxes but health is under provincial government

what a dumb interpretation of the report and a baseless thread discussion. Please understand economics 101 and how taxation relating to port city/ city which house multinational headquarters (which sell products to all of Pakistan and collect gst) works.

Please for a moment stop boasting about how great one particular city and it's residents are and the rest of the country is relying on it. If headquarters moved/ port usage changed to gawadar, more than half of this tax collection will vanish in thin air. And for Karachi's problems, city management/residents didn't do anything to solve it, rather it was karachi who kept voting for Altaf bhai in power. So get your house in order first before pointing fingers.

If orange line is project of provincial government then you shouldn't have any problem with it it's not responsibility of Punjab government to work for Karachi or Larkana
Any provincials government can take loans from China world bank etc

why it comes under CPEC if Punjab govt is independently looking for loans from china, why Punjab govt has to approach via federal govt when it is their own project not federal govt project? they do expect some advantage coming through CPEC, or why would they no approach china independently?

Wow what a model. Keep paying tax and dont ask for separate province because if you do you will be called ghaddar. Baatein karwa lo punjab se bas country ke liye tax denay mai haye mar gaye ghareeb hogaye.

Tolerant and open? Are you that naive come in karachi and see urself who is open and tolerant having all sort of ppl around Pakistan doing business etc but that is another topic. 1. Miscellaneous textiles, worn clothing: US$4.1 billion (17.1% of total exports)

3. Knit or crochet clothing, accessories: $2.9 billion (12%)
4. Clothing, accessories (not knit or crochet): $2.6 billion (10.9%)

6. Leather/animal gut articles: $662.7 million (2.8%)
7. Sugar, sugar confectionery: $519 million (2.2%)
8. Mineral fuels including oil: $499.5 million (2.1%)
9. Beverages, spirits, vinegar: $453.1 million (1.9%)
10. Salt, sulphur, stone, cement: $445.4 million (1.9%)

Again, get your own house in order first, and get out of this false narrative that was always used by a single city just for a feel good factor.
