Look my Pajeet friend, we are in 2020. The China of 1942 is NOt China of 2020. You really need to get a grip if your going to use 1940s as referance.Indigenous oil and mineral? The Japanese successfully blocked all supplies to China until the US got involved in WWII. They succeeded largely because Russia was afraid of imperial Japan. No China does not produce enough oil/gas or raw materials to supply its industry and military - not today and certainly not in 1942.
The extra you mention would apply to all including India and we know which country has the economy to take that extra cost. If such a scenario played out and US was involved you can bet Russia would be involved by supporting China. It's simple strategic balance unless you think Russkies would allow a new order to emerge where USA with India establish a new hegemony.A blockade of Malacca strait will not choke Chinese industry or war efforts entirely. It will increase the cost of acquiring supplies via alternate land or Pacific routes
Let me be frank with you. To even use the name India with China is gross distortion and insult to Chinese. It's like coupling a worn out, emaciated donkey with a racing horse. India can only bluster by tangling with smaller boys like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lankla and then masturbating over it's prowess. When faced with countries it's own size the Indian testicles retract faster then mine do when exposed to frozen ice. They go hiding !!!
