Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee visits Baykar UAV facility in Turkey

(...)
Kotil stated that the company is carrying out 3 aircraft, 6 helicopters, 2 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 1 target aircraft project and that they are continuing their satellite projects. Kotil pointed out that their most important project is MMU and stated that besides 3000 TAI personnel for the project, 3000 personnel will be needed in other companies that will contribute to the project.

(...)
Pointing out that the engine of MMU will be developed by TR Motor, Kotil noted that they received the support of other companies in the development of the sub and side components of the engine. Kotil said, "Landing gear will be made by Italian and Turkish companies collaboration but the industrial rights will belong to Turkey. Air conditioning solutions will be developed and manufactured in Turkey. For the aircraft to become an MMU, It should belong to us."

(...)
"Because what you could originally buy, you may not be able to get it later. First, they say 'I give', then 'I don't'. We are trying to make MMU as local as possible from the very beginning. Everything must be local and national for it to be sold to friendly countries. We have no choice but to spread this over time, including the engine. " said.

(...)
Temel Kotil emphasized that they can give everything, outside the concept design of the aircraft, and that they expect the partner countries and companies that take responsibility to focus on this and continue this in a long-term manner.

Key notes from TAI's general manager Kotil's recent interview. I think there is a significant potential here that Pakistani aviation and related-engineering companies can use.

Can AZM and MMU be combined, I don't know. MMU is leaving the PDR process behind. Conceptual studies and most of prelimanary works have been completed and prototype production is started. Probably, the year 2021 has been determined as a deadline for possible joint development of MMU, in this sense.

Considering that MMU will start prototype production at the end of the year, I don't think there will be a partnership, but investments such as the giant wind tunnel, RCS and high voltage test center will be completed next year. If they find us safer, they can do their tests here for AZM. Of course, there are also super computers for design, but I think they passed this part.

Way back, one option was to order a number of TFXs and enter its overall supply chain. The optimal course here is to contract Pakistan's workshare to its private sector -- it is more efficient, profit-oriented, and focused on building capacity provided there is business.

There is no 2nd option already. You cannot collect a 5th-generation aircraft like an assembly computer. It is unclear how the state itself can deliver this much work. Doing all your avionics from the trunk to the radar / optics is a hassle, doing this in accordance with low RCS is another. At least for TFX, my hopes are growing that they invest that much.

. . .
Yeah so basically TAI (i.e., MS-SOE) is hiring 3,000 folks for just this one project, but it's asking other companies in the supply chain (state-owned and private) to form up another 3,000 individuals. That is only the top-level requirement for the MMU/TFX -- doesn't include the inputs (e.g., avionics or radar, weapons, etc). This one project will likely support at least 10,000 jobs for the development process alone.

For anyone thinking Pakistan is "ahead" of Turkey in aerospace, do tell us how many engineers we have on payroll for AZM. Do tell.

Just another leisure tour for the guys with many of us pinning hopes for our industry / services.
It is unfortunate on how our defense industry is lagging and by that I mean HIT, POF specifically. It is mere lack of vision and downgraded institutional attentionthat we are not heading in the right direction tbh.
PAF still gets alot of credit for making its JF17 program into a robust one even though we might be lagging behind in Blk 3 induction or roll out. PN is on track for acquisition / induction of a number of systems thanks to Admiral Abbasi.
However, the real issue is with the Army. Probably the last visionary 4 star we had was Kayani. He actually placed the Army on the path for modernisation and not just in terms of equipment. The current status of the army's thinking is nothing beyond taking cosmetic measures.
We can only hope for better sense of direction and eventual institutional development for these production organisations to come up with better ideas and systems.

Seriously, I feel the same.. The people/org who have money, in Pak, just think of flour/sugar mils, property, news channel (not now), pvt education institutes, etc.

They didn't think about MEMS lab, composites, high strength steel, etc. You now, our chemical imports are 5$ billion dollars !! No one interested in chemical industry except fertilisers. Then we don't have vaccine manufacturers.

Even we can have some HQ agrarian products, if our institutes can just do research. Like Japanese Ruby Roman grapes, 1000$/bunch, or Wagyu beef 1000$/kilo. and Gulf can be the target market to sell these expensive items.
We dont even manufacture a flu vaccine and kill people trying to get polio vaccinations to kids.

Number of PEC registered engineers trying to get the hell out of .. well hell is the highest in years. If not the west, China and the Far East - anywhere but Pakistan is the rally cry,

I tried hard not to talk, but you are not ahead of us in anything other than certain solid and liquid rocket engine technology. Even nuclear is not a technology but an choise.

You are talking extraordinary nonsense. It is funny that you could have the courage to make a collection from here and there and really make these words.
Don't mind him bro we acknowledge and respect the progress made by Turkey.
I am especially annoyed that citizens of Muslim countries get into such a quarrel with each other. I also have a nervous breakdown when I see my own citizens like MMME. You can see that the Turks do the same thing to some Arabs, if not to Pakistanis. I will never understand why.
Nationalistic vitriol

Is there any news that what types, when ,how many UAV will Pakistan get fro Turkey,

References:
ANKARA: Pakistan Army Chief of General Staff General Nadeem Raza(with a high level military delegation), visited Baykar, a company that manufactures fighter drones in Turkey. During the visit, a high-level delegation of the Pakistan Army reviewed the preparation of fighter drones and other steps. It should be noted that the Turkish company that manufactures fighter drones manufactures Bayraktar TB2, Barrier Akinci and other types of drones.Fighter drones manufactured by the same company
This is the third visit of Pakistan Army Chief of General Staff General Nadeem Raza to Turkey in the last two months. Pakistan has decided to buy modern drones from Turkey.
Pakistan shows interest in Turkish UAV
Pakistan Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Nadeem Raza, and his delegation visited BAYKAR C/ UAV R&D and Production Centre.

Hopefully zero. We have comparable programs to the Bayraktar TB2 (i.e., Shahpar II) and PAC MALE (Anka).

The twin-engine ones could be interesting, but I'd rather we (again) design and develop our own if there's such a need. If the need's too small, then, IMO, it's probably not worth importing either.

Perhaps we should focus on designing a HALE UCAV using a miniature turbofan engine.

Sorry for off topic, but regarding polio vaccine maybe resistance in Pak is due to pig component of the vaccine, but there is a new one made by China without pig component. Indonesia has already use that quite long.

I dont know why, but Western always use pig component, even Aztrazenika has pig component as well according to Indonesian Ulama Council which has lab to test it, so we prefer Sinovac but AstraZenika who has been bought will still be used because in Islam we can use it under emergency condition. Despite so, if we have choice, dont use that British vaccine

Actually, the resistance is due to a rumor spread by the Taliban that polio vaccine makes you impotent.

PAF f16 mlu was originally to be done at kamra, after PAF techs were to be initially trained in the u.s where the initial batch of our f16 were going through mlu. But then in came our "Islamic brother" and the mlu happened in turkey.

so much for our so called friends
