CAS Mujahid Anwar: Whatever capabilities the IAF acquires, PAF will match it

I maybe wrong - but i feel SPECTRA is overrated. I dont believe radar cancelling or spoofing and thereby having virtual stealth can be done by SPECTRA. Its stuff star wars are made off. Even Israelis and Americans are not at that level

Thats an AWACS or AWECS right ? What has that got to do with Data Linking ? How does data linking happen between F16 and JF17 ? Or as a matter of fact between F16 and ZDK ?

There is no linking between F-16s and ZDK-03. According to the article given below, JF-17 & F-16s both can use Erieye which I think will allow them to share info.

French makes good stuff - but what you are really buying with French is autonomy ! Some countries value that a lot. With regards to Spectra - Its really good. The data fusion that it enables Rafale to have is comprehensive and probably best in class (baring F35). But this radar cancelling is humbuugg.

By the way what is WVZ - 9 ?
Just an example name, going by the chinese style of naming high end systems with just alphanumeric names

J-20 falls under the heavy category fighter, the same class as Su-30 series or F-15...it doesn't make sense to power up a heavy fighter with a single engine

Also, PAF's strategy and tactics have been structured around medium and light fighters for which J-31 would a better choice IMO.

You just didn't read my post properly, I said that single engine design based on J-20 not J-20 with single engine.

I totally get it but "based on J-20" still means the same weight class. If the overall size was to be brought down to that of a medium fighter and equipping it with one engine, you'd say "based on J-31" or the likes

Size will be reduced so single engine power can handle it, only time will tell which design PAF have chosen.

this is very relevant to subject of this thread...provides insights and Pakistan becoming primary front. i would request to listen & watch carefully.

Thanks - You cleared my doubt. Just as i thought - American assets cannot be linked with Chinese assets. So interoperability will be limited to SDR.

From the article.
"Of course, there is an exception – i.e. U.S. origin systems such as the F-16, but beyond that, the world is open to the PAF. "

This topic has been between to death a number of times and there were acquisition planned back in 2010 to make sure there is interoperability other wise your C2/c4isr is of now use

Anyway some one can repost from the past there are options and per one acm interview it was in place

What’s the actual situation your guess is as good as mine

Thats interesting ? How did Pakistan achieve data linking between chinese and American platform ? Is Link 16 a common standard ? A common SDR makes sense , but not able to comprehend how data linking was done.
Can you shed some light or an article to read ?

It's an in-house solution PAF has worked very hard on. No, there is no article online for this unfortunately and that's on purpose. Although the JF17 is a Chinese platform, it uses a mix of Western/Local/Chinese Avionics that allows it to data-link to Pakistan's force multipliers.

All of PAF's aerial assets on Feb 27 including the Mirage, JF17, F16's, AWACS, Blinders were all data-linked. That is why PAF knew exactly where IAF's fast movers were, and how fast they were closing in. WG Comm Nauman was able to perfectly see the MIG21's flying low to thwart IAF's clever tactic of trying to sneak the smaller low flying MIG 21 below as the superior SU30MKI tries to paint the PAF's jets.
