It takes Months to even complete the paper work for pension in any govt agency, and congies here are expecting OROP for 2.5million+ retired vets in such a short time without understanding the complexities ? Stupidity has its limits, there is a reason there are only handful of protesters out of 2.5million.

Yes it all of a sudden became complex which wasn't the case during election rallies.... During the Anna movement, out of 1.2 billion people mostly some thousands gathered but that didn't mean that others were OK with corruption and happy with the government as we have seen in the election results.

is it not inline with expectation? govt has always done that for everybody. Like I said, its nice to have not must have.
Dont ex service men get the hike as well? whats the fuss about?
Tell me if it is moral to demand pension (or some benefit not promised) after joining.

They should demand higher pension not fake equality. Equality is unfair in this case.

You tell me how is it unfair?

*Civilian employees retire at 60. Military personnel retire much earlier (based on rank) when family liability is maximum and 2nd career is difficult

*Sepoys retire at 35-38; NCOs & JCOs at 40-45 (Only 10% of sepoys become JCOs)

*Most officers retire in early-50s (just a few become Lt-Generals/Air Marshals/Vice-Admirals to serve till 60)

*Terms and conditions of military service much tougher than civilian government employees

*Soldiers undergo hardship postings, with risk to live and restriction of fundamental rights

*Successive pay commissions have widened gap between veterans who have retired earlier and those who retire later

Yes it will burden Government treasury but there has to be some kind of solution to it and why did these politicians play along with OROP promises during elections if it was so hard of a decision.

OROP was always a complex issue, that is why Congress never gave OROP in their entire life time. Govt. promised it during this term, and this term does not end until next 45 months. Only reason why they are agitating now and not for previous 40 years is they see hope.. IT should be handled slowly not rushed into service like these vets want it. They waited for 40 years , but this govt. started working on it only an year back. It will take time...

Problem is these vets are unwilling to budge or negotiate, their hard line stance is making things a lot harder.

IF he wanted to be political, he could have quiet easily given a timeline in INdipendence day and scored political points but he didnot. he will announce once it is done. Besides only some are asking for time line, other says they will protest till implementation...which is frankly ridicules...

What's political in that? Common man how is giving a timeline political? Ok announce it once its done but what's wrong in giving a timeline if you are working on it? Are you saying that our Veteran soldiers are dot-heads and ridiculous with their demand? This statement of yours is pathetic mate to say the least...

Political point scoring, you know what i am talking about, its what 99% of the politicians would do. They are human beings, not gods i respect them for their service, but not for this level of aggression they are showing..they do not know the consequences of their actions...

now railway personal want OROP, BSF is asking OROP, police is asking OROP all because these people wanted to unnecessarily publicize something which was being actively worked on
