BAF Chief wants high quality combat Aircraft

Pakistan is in Chinese block and they are not starving. By the way ,shall you help us saving our a.ss against Indian expansionism (after you defeat China )if we take your side? What is the guaranty that you won't ditch us like once you ditched Pakistan when they were no longer useful for you ( After fall of Soviet)?
@nahtanbob

We are not in a full fledged conflict yet

In a full fledged conflict with China you are not going to be exporting billions to the West and be a member of the Chinese bloc. China is yet to purchase even a billion dollars in Bangladeshi products.

Is Pakistan really in the Chinese block ? They are on the dole with IMF loans and exporting textiles to the West

For starters what has China done for anyone ?

DId USA ditch Pakistan ? Says who ? A bunch of apologists and poodles for the incompetent Pakistani state

full fledge conflict between China and the u.s. spells out the end of the world economically if it remains conventional and literally if it goes nuclear, and I mean that's the extinction of the human race. having said that, the u.s. pimped those incompetent apologists and poodles that once ran the show in Pakistan, namely zardari & nawaz sharif et al which brought Pakistan to the brink of bankruptcy. don't forget that it was the washington & london duo that brokered the infamous nro. which leads me to ask the question that why is that all american administrations are always view the corrupt & the incompetent as "democrats"? regardless...you don't need to worry about us now, our exports are growing and so is the infrastructure which is, yes, you guessed it...all thanks to Chinese investments so your rhetorical question that "what has China done for anyone" is dead on arrival. and yes, Pakistan DOES export a lot to the west, the exports are increasing day by day...and they will CONTINUE to increase if you want to maintain any resemblance of a presence in afghanistan & the rest of the central asian region. see how this relationship is gonna work now? for just 1 thing the u.s. wants from Pakistan, the u.s. will now have to deliver 3 times as much before we even start thinking about what you want. your turn to, as your condelisa rice put it, do more!

you brought this on yourselves. Pakistan IS in China's block. whether you want to keep Pakistan as a friendly partner or a hostile is ENTIRELY up to you. by the way, you tried the hostile approach back in 2012...didn't work out all too good for ya now did it? Pakistan is a different league now.

and yes, I say this as I sit in the heartland of the u.s of a:
know
your
place!

Here is one incompetent poodle for you admitting this in official capacity:

USA has ditched Pakistan many times- first right afer soviet collapse F16s were sanctioned and left Pakistan all alone to deal with Afghanistan mess - this is widely accepted in US think tanks and political commentators now . Second time again to prop up India now - in form of denial to offensive capabilities in F16s, blocking of engines and upgrades for helicopters, staying silent on India aggression on LOC and Kashmir rights abuses etc. On paper Pakistan is a Major Non Nato Ally, but there was a silent approval for an Indian strike against Pakistan, and all geo political matters USA has always sided with India vs Pakistan - except in Afghan peace process where USA had no choice and needed Pakistan to solve the issue on its terms by excluding India.

Anyway I don’t understand why your comments and references to Pakistan are always in a derogatory and hateful manner. You seem to have some deep hatred for Pakistan, which maybe your BJP supporting immigrant parents may have indoctrinated you with? In that case get some help, travel and broaden your perspective.

Absolutely... thats why I say be in western block because our economy depends on it.

Once our economy is more established switch to china if china maintains its ascent.
You are kidding right? What you are suggesting is clearly duplicity ( দ্বিচারিতা) . Why China or anyone will seriously take us as ally if we choose their enemy block in crucial time ? Why anyone will maintain a warm relationship with an opportunist,( If you don't call it a traitor ) who doesn't understand the meaning of alliance and only think of it's own benefit?

Maybe you will say that ,in international relationship there is no permanent enemy or ally, but I can also ask a question and that is , what we can offer China if they already have Myanmar in their block and we choose their enemies in crucial time?

The world is for give and take , not only for taking.

Only lame and opportunistic people want to take and don't want to give. They have no acceptance in real life .

@mb444
Recall that back in the 80s, a simple military exercise on the indian border by Pakistan Army was enough to make india de-escalate from the Bangladeshi border.

Look at his point ( @GumNaam) , he is right and realistic.

Think if we choose Western side and west ditch us , and later India use all its brute force against us , will Pakistan and China will do this job for us? Never ever , because no one want to be the ally of a traitor.

So your suggestions is totally opportunistic,it may help you immediately, but in the long run it will back fire .

Thanks to Allah that majority Bangladeshi people don't think like this.

Bangladesh needs to not rely on the u.s. which sits 2 oceans away and has nothing to loose. your most dangerous enemy sits right on 90% of your border and your closest potential allies sit right on the border of your worst enemy, namely Pakistan & China...you are not nuclear and probably won't be going nuclear any time soon...your best bet is to:
1. build your own conventional strength, ESPECIALLY in the air as the good BAF Chief said.
2. build strong alliances with Pakistan & China who will play the critical role in taking india's heat off of your borders.

Recall that back in the 80s, a simple military exercise on the indian border by Pakistan Army was enough to make india de-escalate from the Bangladeshi border.

I wholeheartedly agree. We must not think about Myanmar , although BAF chief indicated to Myanmar as officially he can't speak against India.

But I believe he actually indicated to India , as only India is our enemy in long run.

Myanmar is an immediate threat and I believe they can be neutralised if we choose Chinese block.

As since both countries will be in same block , so China can solve the problem between Myanmar and Bangladesh aka the Rohingya issue.

I would be allied with Myanmar under the supervision of China and I believe choosing Chinese block parmanetly will solve the Rohingya issue , maybe not overnight but it will be solved.

On the other hand west can't solve it as China will keep using veto in UN ; as I already said that China can't afford losing Myanmar.

So it's better both Myanmar and Bangladesh will remain in Chinese block and then China will balance both side and Rohingya issue may be solved.

But if we choose Western side , then once it will be backfired , as expansionist India will remain as threat forever .

So even if after joining Chinese block if we have no solution with Myanmar , we can fight them , and they are easier to handle than the monster India alone.

If we choose Western blocks , we are doomed.

So yes I support Chinese block.

Let's hope the new military leadership in myanmar would be more sensible. Having said that, militarily, I doubt that the mynmar military is much of a threat to Bangladesh, but even though then will be defeated fast, they do carry the potential of severely weakening the Bangladeshi military, even victory has its costs. It is of the utmost importance that Bangladesh rapidly builds its air force up to the latest 21 century standards along with indiginousing a number of tecnologies.

As far I understand , China is backing the military regime in Myanmar ( I read an analysis from a defence page named defence research forum and they always provide solid things alongside another page named defence technology Bangladesh) , so as long as we can choose China as an ally, I think Chinese controlled military regime of Myanmar will benefit us in the long run . And yes you are right , it's easier to fight them than India if we need to fight them and China will remain neutral as they won't interfere between two of their ally , instead they will try to solve it.

But most of PDF Bangladeshis are intellectual types and they rather love to live in romanticism , than reality.

well two Chinese allies fighting each other is ultimately bad for China as it opens the way for america to exploit them against China. Beijing knows this, hence they won't let it happen...

Do not blame us for your internal problems. Every Pakistani politician was on Pakistani Army payroll.

Your exports are going to the West. China is not buying anything. They are the same they were before the CPEC.

Full fledged cold war with China means you won't be selling much to the West

You make it sound like Afghanistan or Central Asia is paradise. Any Pakistan's leverage lasts only if Iran or Russia is hostile.

Get your facts straight. They are a lot of messes created during the Cold war - Vietnam, Cambodia, Angola, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Ethiopia. Most of them are doing fine these days. Nobody is whining about the past

whether they were on Pakistan Army's payroll should've been none of your concern. but you did step out of line & supported them in our internal politics with your hidden agenda of rolling back economic progress followed by rolling back our nuclear weapons program...they almost succeeded in the first one but thankfully they couldn't get close to the nuclear weapons goal & now even their economic damage is being undone. Now, as far as exports are concerned, the first ones to suffer would be the american economy itself cuz before Pakistan's experts to the u.s. stop, it would be China’s exports to the u.s. that will stop as will the u.s. exports to China. now, stopping american exports to China won't make a debt in them since China still has 60% to 70% of its exports going to the rest of the world, there would anarchy on the american streets & the shelves in stores and malls would be nearly empty. oh and Pakistan's exports to China aren't going anywhere? really? buddy?

Can you please be specific and write something what Bangladesh should do?

In reality, those two most popular parties in BD (BNP and BAL) are both Indian stooges where BNP is ardently pro-west and BAL is traditionally pro-Russian. The relationships between China with BNP deteriorated in 2002-2006 when BNP openly stated courting the Taiwanese and started killing pro-China communists underground activists through Bangla Bhai and RAB. Low level BNP supporters and BD armchair generals don't know these things. They are also the ones who are backing the Rohynga rebels. Even Jamaat is not that hostile to Indians as opposed to popular beliefs. They never supported Pakistan movement prior to 1947.

BD needs a new political system which is independent of these two garbage which are Indian allies. They should revise their one sided history about 1971 and acknowledge their mistakes in order to move on. They also need to build common customs area with Burma and China. It will become interesting when CPEC will become operational and BD can connect to Pakistan -Central Asia through Burma-China.

don't gimme that load a horse crap when condalisa rice herself was involved in creating the nro. and by the way, you should follow your own advice in not blaming Russia for bringing their agent orange in power, kapish nathuram? ;)
