Arjun Tank to Target Russian T55 Today

You are being too logical with a guy,who opined that if AA missile was used to down a Chinese Toy Drone on LOC.

On Top - All these T 55 are being decommissioned, some given to friendly countries like Myanmar.

Apart from that we have Chinese T 59 (T 55 copy) tank as well, captured from 1971 War,fit for testing lAHAT ATGM.

An homemade laser warning system for armored vehicle is developed. Currently, Arjun Mark 2 uses an Israel LWS.

LASTEC has designed and developed a laser warning and countermeasure system for Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFVs). A LWS is capable of handling multiple type of laser threats and has an operational range of more than 6 km for laser designator type of laser threat. After detecting the laser threat along with its direction, it also has the capability to generate trigger signal to activate the grenade launcher for firing of smoke grenade in the direction of laser threat to obscure the platform under threat. Technology of the LWS has been transferred to BEL, Pune.

The laser warning sensors detects the laser radiation processes, determine the PRF and edge matching signals. It comprises of opto-electronic front end, signal processing and conditioning, embedded module for PRF decoding, and edge matching signal.

The master controller receive inputs from multiple laser warning sensors, processes the information and feeds the desired commands to the decoy laser. The master controller comprises of hardware and software module to interface with the laser sensor units and the decoy laser.

Decoy laser is a high energy laser source that takes command from laser warning system and generate a pulsed laser radiation synchronised with the PRF generated by the laser warning system. It is used to illuminate a dummy target to misguide the laser guided bomb on to the dummy target.

The Turret looks pogressive, this Tank is good to storm defence positions or to hold a positions, whats the problem of the Tank, the engine or what ?

This is MK 2 version of Arjun with 1400 BHP Turbo Charged engine.

The one you mentioned was MK 1,successfully induced years back but 70% of its fleet was grounded last year due to the lack of imported components and insufficient support infrastructure for a 60 ton tank.

your notice about Jf-17 Thunder seems very negative ! (Dont want go off topic...), why so angry about a Jet ? So many feelings and emotions can be dangerous for a clear, rational and tactical thinking or not ?

How many MK-1 were produced ? And what means grounded ? Will this Tanks be put in reserve ? Scrapped ? Or used a as target practice ? May be near the LOC they can be used as first line of defense duged in Tanks are good defense strongholds:

What is the wight of the MK-2 ? Is it lighter ? How many are produced ? Will it be a Tanks for the Strike Corps ? Why it should be more successful than the MK-1 ?

Not grounded, since the tank is more on the heavy side the infrastructure in countryside like small bridges and canals have to be strengthened since they were made with lighter tank in mind.

Your local RSS bunch would be a more appropriate choice. Do teach them how to use things other than fancy knives though.

I though import from your country would be cheaper and would help to forge economic ties between both countries.:woot: But guess you dont like economic progress.:big_boss:

Obsolete and proven as faulty. Move on

Where exactly is it mentioned that the test is for a APSFDS round? Or did you use your dazzling brain for this?

Ah poor naivety is such a refuge at times. You'll test arjun with the primary tank killing weapon? Is your fsapds really that bad? Gosh, what's the point, how to blow up an obsolete tank with thermobaric bunker busters and HEAT warheads?

Sorry,i have limited patience for usual Rants which has been debunked in this forum several time @AUSTERLITZ ,and on another Forum.

As for the Arjun MK1 round,it makes 300mm RHA at 60 degree from 2000ms, At 90degree that is flat on its like 500-460mm .

As of now max 500-460mm RHA from 2000ms for MK2 kinetic round ..

BTW long time no see on the other side, kunal was expecting you.

Nah. Its better than getting caught with your pants down for not reading the post. 'Think Tank'. Stop dazzling and start reading.

That would mean it will be deployed in Rajastan sector ?

124 MK 1 inducted and 250 ~ MK 2 ordered,70 % mark 1 was grounded last year as i stated (i have no idea about their current status) ,it was never scrapped, nor it will.Secondly LOC is only in Jammu Kahmir, where the border is disputed, rest is international Border, beside LOC is un suitable for Tank warfare due to terrain.

Arjun is more suitable in Punjab plains and Rajasthan Border, where it would dug in for incoming enemy tanks, where as T 90 and T 72 are for strike corps and Invasion scenarios or so called Cold start doctrine.

I know that @AUSTERLITZ guy and have debunked him pretty bad.

300mm @90 degrees from 2000m? Yeah right

Prove it. The size and L/D ratio of that poor thing suggests a meager 200-220mm at best mate. Not more

Please take consideration that Arjun uses rifle barrel not smothbore!
