Arjun Tank to Target Russian T55 Today

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has scheduled a ‘live-testing’ of ammunition from one tank to another at the test range of Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE) at Chandipur-on-sea on Wednesday.

Now read the amazing responses to this statement.

.so does it men T-90s wereinducted without conducting these type of trials..for the tank...
..IA brass and it's love for foreign things..sic.
.

The DRDO keeps developing ammo which has to be proof tested for which they need a derelict. There is no way they could have tested something they develop today years ago.

Yes they love foreign Tank because local Arjun has proved to be a disaster

Modern 120mm round fired at a 1960s vintage russian tank! Wonder what the results of thats going to be? Whats the point, just look up youtube.....

Its not the vintage of the tank that matters , its the Armour thickness / sloped Armour that needs to be penetrated.

During trails a number of things are studied , there is more to life than You tube.

Fanboy .. India hope to have 1300 T-9's till 2020... Till 2015 it had around 500 in service !
T-72s are already screwed.
Arjun MKII (which is supposed to be a less problem probe Arjun MKI) has already been delayed further... Meanwhile the original fleet remains grounded !!!

And to top it all ... India doesn't produce modern & effective ammunition/rounds.. And it's fleet T-72 fleet also remains problematic with burst barrels and night blindness.

He has a habit of bursting bubbles & is surely older than me.That's why i used Bubble buster uncle :enjoy::enjoy:
I recognized that he is older than me & has more experience, this was more of a personal praise than an attack

2nd Since no information is available (from a credible source) we all are speculating & that means you too Desert fighter ji

I just learned that Arjun MKII costs more than twice of Type 99, according to this page: Top 10 Modern Battle Tanks By Price - TheRichest

That is the advantage of having a massive Industrial base, also Arjun is being produced in limited batches while Type 99 is being mass produced
