American kids are 'political pawns' in gun control battle, CEOs say

Unfortunately some cities have more poorer people than others.
The more poor people you have the more desperate people you have. In the NorthEast (including New York City) gun crime has gone down. We do have stricter gun laws but I think we also have more liberal welfare systems. Plus there seems to be more gentrification of once poor neighborhoods into middle class.

So other cities which may be less financially capable of tackling the poor are going to still have desperate people.

Gentrification has hit NYC hard but you have to understand banning guns won't solve any problems in fact I live right next to Flushing Chinatown where there is large Home Depot was used for illegal gun sales in the parking lot weapons from down south also the gang problems have shifted more to Long Island where they are more Central American gangs are based like MS13 I am for responsible gun ownership you pass background tests and screen you get a gun license I dont blame some people living outside of the US who dont know how gun laws work because Hollywood makes it seem everyone in big cities have a gun while that's not the case

Yep, I think they determined 30% of the guns used in crimes in Massachusetts were purchased in Maine or New Hampshire. Even the mayor of Boston said what can you do if somebody really wants a gun they can just drive to Maine and buy what they want without much background checking.

Seems NYC has really cleaned things up. What do you think brought it about?

Massachusetts is the lowest...and NY is the third lowest!!! NorthEast is the place to be (except hillbilly NH + VT)

Yeah, I can't say I've seen many people with guns. There's definitely a perception issue.

No body is saying who dies from what more frequently...Say X number of people die from mass shootings...Do you not wish to save those X number of people or X number of people arent worth anything?

If they find a drug to decrease cancer/ obesity, dont you think people will run to it to try it atleast?

So why does your brain get stuck when it comes to guns?

1) Unnecessary trolling...
2) Non-issues? Yet people are voicing against said non-issues - Not "Pakistanis" but Americans!
3) Even indian people's only source wiki also says so: The United States has had more mass shootings than any other country.

Ref: The same website you were trying to quote but were unable to read:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_shootings_in_the_United_States

You seem to be beggging for a warning - Cant stop derailing can you?

I dont really think Americans are even in par with you...So talk about yourself...And yes, you are different A very special kind who wishes to be banned for off topic and derailing!
the safest states in the united states are wyoming, nlrth dakota, maine, vermont, and new hampshire. All of those states lax gun control. Meanwhile states like new jersey and california have strict gun control but are still the most violent in the us. Not to mentioj cities such as chicago, newark, and dc that have higher homicide rates than iraq. whereas wyoming, north dakota, vermont, maine, and new hampshir are all safer than most european countries. In fact the us has lower rates of violent crime than the uk. Dont believe the hype about mass shootings. the fact is mass shootings account for only a tiny percntage of crime. Its a well known fact that the media loves mass shootings because coverage of them gets good ratings. Similarly, the dems lov mass shootings because they can use them to promote their goal of gun confiscation so that they can finish their agenda of controlling the citizens and trampling on our civil liberties. to them, the kids are just ignorant and naive pawns. they were able to use the pawns to help win the house, but fortunately republicans increased their senate majority so our gun rights are safe for now On a side note, the only ting pakistan does better than india is it has better gun rights. To all pakistanis reading this, never under any circumstance give up your guns. If you give the liberal elites an inch, they will take a mile

Violent crime has been going down in NYC since the Giulianni reforms of the 1990s eventhough we have De Bozo as Mayor now the crime policy has remained the same I think its because of the corporate sector and Wall St who pushed the Mayor from enacting bad policy regarding Police and Crime as for Guns yeah gun crimes are low here but not due to gun control but proper policing

Yep, I think they determined 30% of the guns used in crimes in Massachusetts were purchased in Maine or New Hampshire. Even the mayor of Boston said what can you do if somebody really wants a gun they can just drive to Maine and buy what they want without much background checking.

Gun control laws applies to everyone everywhere instantly, whereas drugs applies to individuals at the different times and at their choosing. Gun control laws applies to gun owners as well as non-owners, whereas only sick people take drugs.

The better analogy is the vaccine, but even so, it has limits. Something communicable via touching or breaths, as in living in close proximity, would justify forcing everyone to be vaccinated. However, one gun owner do not somehow 'infect' the belief in guns into other people just by talking or shaking hands. You have practically zero control getting the flu. The best you can do is simply stay home throughout the flu season. No family, friends, and co-workers, not even interacting with your neighbors. But in discussing guns, you have total control over what you want to believe. You can go to an NRA convention and come out safe in your psyche.

Even debate is off the table when you have this

Thank you for the simple lesson on how to distinguish the two.
Interesting enough you forgot to mention that BOTH results in death!

And as for this part:

whereas only sick people take drugs.
I think only in America do they give a blind eye to drug misuse and not equate it to gun misuse - BOTH leading to deaths every too often...But oh well lets still distinguish the 2 coz ONLY 1 appears in the 2nd amendment, indicating you dont trust your law and hence need to take the law in your own hands...while drug abuse is well just for the "sick"

However, one gun owner do not somehow 'infect' the belief in guns into other people just by talking or shaking hands.
No it just kills random people...just like those who react to vaccine...then again vaccine helped eradicate some illness from this planet while only thing guns will eradicate is humanity itself!

You have practically zero control getting the flu. The best you can do is simply stay home throughout the flu season.
So are you saying like our body has no guard on flu, we need to pick up guns and guard ourselves coz American civil security is zero? Weird choice of comparison but oh well...

But in discussing guns, you have total control over what you want to believe. You can go to an NRA convention and come out safe in your psyche.
Yea yet the 1% is still able to kill tons of children at school or at churches :agree:

You are welcome.

I did not 'forgot'. It was irrelevant.

I think only in America do they give a blind eye to drug misuse and not equate it to gun misuse - BOTH leading to deaths every too often...
Because we do not conflate the two.

But oh well lets still distinguish the 2 coz ONLY 1 appears in the 2nd amendment, indicating you dont trust your law and hence need to take the law in your own hands...
We do not trust the government. The law is a different issue.

...while drug abuse is well just for the "sick"
Drug abuse is a strawman.

No it just kills random people...just like those who react to vaccine...then again vaccine helped eradicate some illness from this planet while only thing guns will eradicate is humanity itself!
Spare me the hyperbole. If you want to talk about what kills more people, maybe you should look at religion.

So are you saying like our body has no guard on flu, we need to pick up guns and guard ourselves coz American civil security is zero? Weird choice of comparison but oh well...
I said no such thing. Looks like you have a reading comprehension problem. But oh well...

Based on what survey? Kindly also paste the sources like this one: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/27/sta...ms-deaths-heres-how-your-state-stacks-up.html

You got ONLY 1 state right! https://www.cheatsheet.com/culture/states-loosest-gun-laws.html/

No state permit is required to possess a rifle, shotgun or handgun. Wyoming respects the right of law abiding citizens to openly carry a handgun. Any person 21 years of age or older, who is not prohibited possessor, may carry a weapon openly or concealed without the need for a license.

nlrth dakota
Concealed carry permits/licenses are issued by the Attorney General. The application for a concealed carrypermit/license must be processed within 60 days of the application being received. North Dakota gun laws do not require you to inform law enforcement you are carrying a firearm.

Maine gun laws operate on an “Unrestricted” and “Shall Issue” policy. The later being needed forreciprocity with other states. No permit is required to conceal or open carry a firearm if the carrier is 21 years or older and meets all the criteria set out in the law.

Must be 21 to purchase any firearm, unless one is 18 and has passed an approved hunter safety course. A gun control bill, passed on March 30th, 2018, bans sale of magazines of more than 10 rounds for long guns and 15 rounds for pistols. It was signed by Governor Scott on April 11.

Is that true ??
You are telling me America has more mass shootings than the likes of Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, Iraq

definition of mass shootings: death of four or more individuals in a single incident
well that is what the wiki link you sent me said...Guess you dont even read what you share :coffee:

Is mass shootings the issue or violent crime the issue?...especially when factoring in for drug/gang violence?
Interesting question, would you like to die in a mass shooting (which apparently you dont consider violent) or violently in 1 of your said violent crimes?
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2018/02/gun-violence-public-health/553430/

Tell me if you know how many lives in the US are saved each year by gun ownership? What you think the ratio is to the number of gun homicides (even including suicides)? twice? 5 times? 10 times? Just guess if you want.
So police and law enforcement are useless? Good to know that!

You do know there is no proper detailed study on gun crimes?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...as-been-shut-down-for-20-years/?noredirect=on

https://edition.cnn.com/2017/10/05/politics/lack-of-gun-research-and-funding-study/index.html

https://abcnews.go.com/US/federal-government-study-gun-violence/story?id=50300379

So not sure which stats you will be picking up to show me

Like @OsmanAli98 said, gun control areas in US have worse crime in all parameters....because only the bad guys end up owning guns (knowing full well the limits and flaws of police/legislation). There is literally nothing that acts quite like a deterrent for a bad guy, knowing that a store owner or random passer by is likely armed to kill him if he starts some shit.
That literally means the country's laws are no good and alone cant deter people. Nor can the law enforces protect people ...so bad that people need to take guns into their own hands!

The 2nd's intent is to protect the people against the government, not to declare that the people have a right to personal defense.
Yet the indians on this thread seem to think otherwise

Spare me the hyperbole. If you want to talk about what kills more people, maybe you should look at religion.
I never saw any religious book that even as much as bit a human while bullets do result in death...again not the same...

Anyway, carry on killing your next generation...everyone has tried to knock some sense in y'all

.
well that is what the wiki link you sent me said...Guess you dont even read what you share :coffee:

I sent you the wiki link for the number of deaths.

You like to selectively quote things
There is no fixed definition of a mass shooting,[2] but a common definition is an act of violence—excluding gang killings, domestic violence, or terrorist acts sponsored by an organization—in which a gunman kills at least four victims.

.
I sent you the wiki link for the number of deaths.
And on the same wiki page it stated American mass shootings is highest on the planet...I guess you didnt read beyond your need!

Who is denying it?

Just shows highest shootings with 4 dead on the planet!

As per the definition on the wiki we are just going to ignore killings by terrorists, governments, thugs wearing military uniforms, gang bangers, domestic violence

On second thoughts I will join the NRA and own a few dozen AR-15s

. .
@gambit
Let's be clear about one thing, you can't teach other's about value of arms, and to those it's impossible who have never felt the cold metal and
redolence of gun powder.Guns are tools and only a professional knows value of it.
When everyone has gun then balance is acheived but when criminals have guns and law abiding citizens are not allowed, balance is lost.

.
yea stick to that kid...
sure :enjoy:
Let us ignore killings by terrorists, governments, thugs wearing military uniforms, gang bangers, domestic violence
We will see how long you ignore it
