AirForce Monthly - 2 Chinese AESA radar competing for Block 3

Are we sure they're still in development? To promote & exhibit such systems at trade shows seem to suggest that these HMDs are ready to go; this would also go hand-in-hand with the fact that the Chinese have been developing HMD systems for many years.
The stuff they showed at Air Show China was conceptual. There was no actual product tag, performance spec sheet, or anything else that one would expect from a product that's ready for sale. We can contrast this with other Chinese hardware, such as the LY-80, VT-4, etc.

A prototype has been in development with starts and stops, we may see a test-type in third block but its development will definitely continue in FGF. No one will sell sensor deployment technology to us.
So there is absolutely no off-the-shelf option - not even Thales (TopOwl-F) or BAE Systems (Striker II)? And "FGF" - Is that the next-generation fighter program?

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Nonetheless, it's important to note that the main focus of the airshow displays was the conceptual cockpit, not the HMD system (which may very well be a marketable & developed entity).

I hope the HMD/S comes in sooner than later.

Vixen was never in the race. Chinese were quite clear that theyll not share source codes of sd-10 and other advanced/ sensitive weapons. Otoh, Leonardo were also not willing to let the chinese have a glimpse of vixen up close.

The klj-j-7a was always and still is the forerunner. the new chinese radar will have to prove its worth and price to stay in the competition. The better than expected performance of klj-7 also played it's part in PAF's inclination towards NRIET radar.
Hi you have any info what kind of aesa j10 is using ?
Thx

Hi do the Chinese have anything for their j20's I mean HMDS
Thx

No. FGF - yes. Bombardier's view (later acquired by BAE) on sensor deployment technology is an octuplex redundant system precisely because of very significant level-V failure rates (level 1-V).

So is the Chinese HMD/S program solely a Chinese one or is the PAF actually investing (or considering of investing) for co-ownership? Considering the difficulty of procuring this technology, it would make sense to source locally and, over the long-term, have a domestic development stream for it.

srry but you are mistaken friedn . Main focus was on everything displayed including EOTS and IRST , Wide panel display , and the fifth gen cockpit . The HMDS was also shown before at occasions the one looking like striker 2

j10 aesa has 1252 T/R modules

sir could you explain me what is this all bombardier view and octuplex waghera and level v

Sensor deployment is a very difficult subject. Local development - logical but difficult. I've answered both your Q.

In short, Sensor deployment was an initiative of bombadier, acquired by BAE. Each function runs under octuplex redundancy. Failures are picked up at different filtering strata 1(first)-V(last). Still level-V faiure rate is very high even in western systems.

Hi,

Only if that was so easy----.

Yea, but they seem to be in development. We don't have an actual product with a name and price-tag yet, hence my belief that this isn't a marketable product at the moment.
J-20 already enter service while Z-10 gunship has a operational HMS and you believe China will be far from making a exported ready set?

607 Institute's proposal looks interesting. It can be used to upgrade Block I and Block II without space for a cooling system

. . . .
Many countries in Asia, Africa, and in South America might buy as a Light Strike Aircraft.
