What's new

22 top airforces (based on plane quality and quantity).

that is only one possible scenario.. you must consider every situaions and reality before ranking.. if italy wins over PAF in a direct conflict anyday in almost every situation means your ranking is wrong..
If I consider every possible scenario then I will need million different ranks. Plus such scenarios are too subjective. Read the title, my ranking is based solely on quality and quantity of planes.

And by the way, you always can take my rank and add factors of pilot quality, support, bases and so on.

Italy has 202 jets, no AEW&C
Spain has 131 jets, no AEW&C
UAE has 2 AEW&C and 124 jets
Australia has 6 AEW&C, but only 93 jets

Pakistan has 404 jets and 7 AEW&C

Buddy could you make a friendly Israel vs Turkey AirForce comparison. That would be awesome since both have a very capable air force much better than this IrAF or PAF thread.

Thanks!

jet tanker = 2/6
KC-130, H-6 tankers = 1/4

i HAVE ALWAYS RATED THE ISRAELI AIRFORCE the BEST outside of BIG 3 USA/RUSSIA & CHINA

And agree on your ranking

An air force should be judged on her capabilities rather than "quality" and "quantity". A well trained, well organized and operationally well harmonized air force can be far more effective than a numerically superior yet under trained and redundant air force.

I guess you could describe paf had redundant air force over kargil in 1999 when lack of training and harmoney with the leaders meant a no show to support their nli regimet.

Or did you mean something elde

He's just pissed off that Iranian airfarce sucks so bad...

With a bunch of almost out of order F14s and ancient F4s, F5s, thats pretty much still in 1960s original configuration it's normal.
Iran didn't invest in her airforce.

though placing saudi arabia and south korea above Turkey is just dumb :D
I don't know South Korea seems like it could give Turkey a run for it's money. South Korea has, after all, been technically at an unending war since the end of the cold war, and both the north and south have exchanged fire multiple times since the armistice

And Turkish Air Force has been bombing ground targets in northern Iraq and constantly dogfighting with Hellenic Air Force... plus all the NATO drills

Again, both are experienced enough to give each other a run for their money. Saying one is superior to the other is hard, because it's hard to predict the outcome of a conflict between the two.

well, not so with the saudi arabia :)

And why is that? Because they're rich?
They regularly conduct air drills with NATO members as well. They have way more advanced fighterjets and AEW than Turkey.
don't make me laugh...
One must be a retard to think of RSAF as an equal of TURAF.
I won't even go into technical details and discuss... it's fvcking obvious

and FYI we got twice their GDP.

Turkish Airforce has alot of combat experience, it has excellent training, the pilots have a crap load of flight hours. Our jets are constantly patrolling our borders and they respond to various threats on a day to day basis. We also interact with alot of other NATO air forces so we learn from their experiences as well.

once we get the F-35 we will be good to go. :guns:
I wouldn't put too much faith into the F-35. It's a hardware and software marvel, and the scientists working on it should be commended for trying to make this..."fighter" work out like Lockheed promised, but it's problems are far too many. It's price is far too high for what it offers, and what it offers is questionable.
