@abjktu This is for those who Believe Hinduism and Sikhism is same and we believe in their
Deities - Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva Etc and says Hindus and Sikhs are same. The one who believes have exposed me . The one who thinks, so is making laughing stock of himself. If it were then there would be no need for Sikhism!
I have no intention in being disrespectful or offensive, and with that in mind, I will present direct quotations.
Hindu Deities
Sikhism believes in only one God, who is not considered human or an incarnation. The Hindu Deities were born but according to Sikhism, God does not take birth :
Let that mouth be burnt, which says that our Lord and Master is subject to birth. ||3||
--Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 1136
Sikhism does not attach any importance to Hindu Avtaars. According to Sikhism the Hindu Deities were not perfect and did not impart proper knowledge to their followers. They themselves were suffering from numerous social and moral diseases:
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva suffer from the disease of the three gunas - the three qualities; they do their deeds in egotism.
The poor fools do not remember the One who created them; this understanding of the Lord is only obtained by those who become Gurmukh. ||2||
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 852
Brahma acted in pride, and did not understand.
Only when he was faced with the downfall of the Vedas did he repent.
Remembering God in meditation, the mind is conciliated. ||1||
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 224
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are diseased; the whole world is diseased (with egotism).
Those who remember the Lord's Feet and contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad are liberated. ||4||
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 1153
Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu and Consort of Sachi (Indra) would ultimately fall in the noose of death.
But those who fall at the feet of Lord-God, they would not appear again in physical form. 8.28.
--Sri Dasam Granth, Ang 41
According to Sikhism, the Hindu Deities are also neither unique:
He created millions of incarnations of Vishnu.
He created millions of universes as places to practice righteousness.
He created and destroyed millions of Shivas.
He employed millions of Brahmas to create the worlds. ||1||
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 1156
Somewhere He hath created millions of the servants like Krishna. Somewhere He hath effaced and then created (many) like Rama.
Many Muhammads had been on the earth. They were born and then died in their own times. 27.
All the Prophets and saints of the past were conquered by Death (KAL), but none could conquer it (him).
All the incarnations of Vishnu like Rama and Krishan were destroyed by KAL, but they could not destroy him. 28.
-- Sri Dasam Granth
O Nanak, the Lord is fearless and formless; myriads of others, like Rama, are mere dust before Him.
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 464
Bhagat Namdev, who was himself born a Hindu, sarcastically critises Hindu Gods as misguiding the people. He thinks that those who worship Hindu Gods can never be sure to obtain salvation:
Bilaaval Gond:
Today, Naam Dayv saw the Lord, and so I will instruct the ignorant. ||Pause||
O Pandit, O religious scholar, your Gayatri was grazing in the fields.
Taking a stick, the farmer broke its leg, and now it walks with a limp. ||1||
O Pandit, I saw your great god Shiva, riding along on a white bull.
In the merchant's house, a banquet was prepared for him - he killed the merchant's son. ||2||
O Pandit, I saw your Raam Chand coming too;
he lost his wife, fighting a war against Raawan. ||3||
The Hindu is sightless; the Muslim has only one eye.
The spiritual teacher is wiser than both of them.
The Hindu worships at the temple, the Muslim at the mosque.
Naam Dayv serves that Lord, who is not limited to either the temple or the mosque. ||4||3||7||
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 874
Spiritual State of Hindu Deities
In each and every age, He creates the kings, who are sung of as His Incarnations (Avtaars).
Even they have not found His limits; what can I speak of and contemplate? ||7||
-- Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 423
According to Sikhism, there are 5 Regions : Dharam Khand, Gian Khand, Saram Khand, Karam Khand and Sach Khand. God resides in Sach Khand....
In the realm of Truth, the Formless Lord abides.
-- Sri Jupp Ji Sahib, Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 8
...but the Hindu Deities, even Buddha, reside in 'Gyan Khand' :
And now we speak of the realm of spiritual wisdom.
So many winds, waters and fires; so many Krishnas and Shivas.
So many Brahmas, fashioning forms of great beauty, adorned and dressed in many colors.
So many worlds and lands for working out karma. So very many lessons to be learned!
So many Indras, so many moons and suns, so many worlds and lands.
So many Siddhas and Buddhas, so many Yogic masters. So many goddesses of various kinds.
So many demi-gods and demons, so many silent sages. So many oceans of jewels.
So many ways of life, so many languages. So many dynasties of rulers.
So many intuitive people, so many selfless servants. O Nanak, His limit has no limit! ||35||
-- Sri Jupp Ji Sahib, Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 7
Satguru Nanak Dev Ji, Gurbani, Gurmantar and Gurmat are directly from Sachkhand, from God:
O GurSikhs, know that the Bani, the Word of the True Guru, is true, absolutely true. The Creator Lord Himself causes the Guru to chant it. (Ang 308)
I speak as You cause me to speak; O Lord and Master, You are the ocean of excellence. (Ang 622)
By myself, I do not even know how to speak; I speak all that the Lord commands. (Ang 763)
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Hindu Deities
Sikhs consider the Ten Gurus to be of one Jot (light) and that Jot is now manifest in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Therefore there is no contradition in thought from one Guru to the next. Sri Guru Gobind Singh has cateogorically made it clear who he worships:
In due time Brahma appeared in physical form; in due time Shiva incarnated;
In due time Vishnu manifested himself; all this is the play of the Temporal Lord.383.
The Temporal Lord, who created Shiva, the Yogi; who created Brahma, the Master of the Vedas;
The Temporal Lord who fashioned the entire world; I salute the same Lord.384.
The Temporal Lord, who created the whole world; who created gods, demons and yakshas;
He is the only one form the beginning to the end; I consider Him only my Guru.385.
--Sri Dasam Granth, Ang 1466
Someone calls him Ram or Krishna and someone believes in His incarnations, but my mind has forsaken all useless actions and has accepted only the One Creator. ||12||
--(Sri Dasam Granth, 33 Sawayeas, Guru Gobind Singh Ji)
Kirtan Naam and Gurmantar
"Vaheguru" is the Gurmantar given by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and meditation upon it is the most emphasised concept throughout the Sikh Scriptures. Other words like Hari, Govind, Banvari etc. are attributive names for God describing a particular quality. Gurbani isn't restricted to using just Hindu names, it also uses Islamic names such Allah, Rahim, etc. These names are collectively referred to as Kirtan Naam.
If a pagan was to assert that the word Allah in Quran refers to one of their idols, he would be clearly wrong and his claim would be dismissed as ridiculous and irrational because this word acquires special and specific meaning in the context of Quran. The point we emphasize is that when an already existing word is used in a different religious system, it acquires new definition, meaning and context and must be weighed according to the definitions and standards as outlined by the respective faith’s scriptures. In the same way, Hindu incarnations have nothing to do with the attributive names used for God in Gurbani.
When the Guru says that Ram and Allah are the same, he refers to it according to his definitions. Ram ceases to be a prince born in eastern India. Here Ram is God present within all creations.
In gurbani some names of God are used which were originally used for the names of incarnated gods of the polytheistic tradition but, the original monotheistic standpoint as revealed in the Sikh scripture and interpreted in the monotheistic framework was never shattered. All the names even of Hindu gods and of Islamic tradition were used according to the monotheistic model maintained by the Sikh theological formulation. In gurbani the same one Being was called Rama and Allah with equal theological meaning and respect.
It is not the letters or the sound symbols which have a meaning near God, but it is the mental content or the heart which is means of communion with God. It was this truth which did not make the guru prejudiced in favour of or against any name of God occurring in any language. Any name that he could recall (for God) was used by him.
Therefore, it is clear that words like Raam, Krishan, Allah etc. in Gurbani are used for the same God and not to describe Hindu or Islamic viewpoint of God." Sikhism is as distinct as distinct is Hinduism and Islam.
I can continue with above...
Even after reading above text, if someone thinks, Hinduism and Sikhism is same needs a Psychiatric.
Edit:
@Srinivas do you have anything to add or say?
