It was Mr. Bhutto and legislators and creators of 1973 constitution who laid the foundation of the present day religious disaster in Pakistan. Gen Zia simply built on the foundation that was provided to him by Bhutto & Co and Moudoodi. It was not Zia who banned Alcohol or declared certain groups non-Muslims. Having said that, I do hold him responsible for dragging Pakistan into the so-called Afghan Jihad (I call it fasad). If it was not for that fasad, Pakistan would be a better country. However, successive governments are as much accompliced for they literally continue disastrous policies of Gen. Zia.

No doubt it was Bhutto who started giving massages to the the religious nuts....but it was Zia who gave them the "happy-endings".

Zia absolutely killed and crushed the Left-wing or Liberal spectrum in Pakistan. He also nurtured Nawaz Sharif and his likes from the milk of his own teet. He appeased JI and one particular strain of Islam over the rest of the country...the monster which we experience now.

I am amazed you are trying to talk logic and teaching him what proof is

he thinks there is more prophet-hood after Muhammad

and yet he insists everyone calls him true muslim and correct their path.

I am not sure how different is that from Taliban themselves ?

Bhai, my problem is, I cannot hate people only because they do not share my theological beliefs. Besides, Qadyanies are still monotheists, believe in one Allah, and most if not all of the Quran. Theologically, they are closer to us than the believers of any other religion. Besides, Allah has said himself that he will forgive every sin except shirk i.e. associating a partner or others with Allah.

Verily, Allah forgives not the sin of setting up partners in worship with Him, but He forgives whom He wills sins other than that. And whoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, has indeed strayed far from the path. (4:116)

Now tell me, how can I hate somebody who believes in one Allah? They do not really say that there is more prophet hood after Mohammed (PBUH), they simply consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Saheb as Mehdi and Masih Mo'od. We also believe that Imam Mehdi and Masih (Jesus) will come and lead Muslims to fight against Dajjal. However, we believe that Imam Mehdi and Masih will be two individuals, and will appear in the time of great fitna i.e. Dajjal. So here Qadyanies' beliefs differ from those of ours. At any rate, if you have faith in the righteousness of your religion, you should not be worried. Why many of us are so insecure?
