The biggest money lovin power lovin people you will find is Jews. Try buying them out though? Money is one thing but being connected to your soil is another. Take me. I have residual connection with Pakistan. It has done nothing for me. However I would never brook anybody talking ill will about Pakistan. Never. I would never sell out Pakistan. I often think why this is so. Trust me it is not religion. I think in my case it is all about my father, his father and my ancestors. They lived on tract of landfor god knows how long. That land - part of which has just recently been shared out by my dad to us siblings is . It's carries the memory of my generations. I would never sell that land because it is a legacy. That legacy happens to be in Pakistan thus I would never sell out Pakistan. Tp be honest I am also very pro British. The only time I would have problems is if Britain and Pakistan clashed. Let us hope that never happens.

And I also think if a person gives up their legacy they will sell out again. Once sold always sold. The only thing left is the price. Take Britain. Can UK trust me? Yes but like I said it comes with a "but" and that "but" is Pakistan. I have soken to some English about this and they felt uneasy at me expressing my feelings for Pakistan. I told them if I had no feelings for Pakistan anything I would have for Britain would be useless. Because if I can exchange the land of my ancestors so easily surely I would sell UK easily as well. Therefore much as I was not prepared to give up on Pakistan they could trust me whatever loyalty I had for UK was rock solid - except if it involved Pakistan.

Very well said. That is precisely why I chose the word nation state to evoke that strong political, geographical and cultural connections to the land itself and not just the word country. The feelings of belonging to a piece of land is connected with your past, present and future. Any self respecting man would respect the land that gave birth to it, where his ancestors toiled, where they stood and bled for it's defense. If one has such feelings, how can one truly even consider betraying it?

As for religion, I honestly consider religion to be a secondary component when it comes to state building. Religion can be a powerful tool to unite people, I concede, but in a country like Pakistan where it is very diverse and fragmented, it is a folly to try and use just religion as the binding force.

Your nation state is your land, your history, your customs, geography, your origins. When one combines this in to one aspect and understands that it is the state of Pakistan that represents it, it becomes impossible to even consider doing something that may endanger it or bring it shame or dishonour. My thoughts in this are similar to yours. I swear, when I read about Pakistanis or people of Pakistani origin, partake in actions that brings dishonour to my nation, I feel extremely agitated and angry. Can these people not for one moment stop and think what they represent? The land that gave humans one of it's earliest civilizations. The land that their ancestors bled to make independent. Terrorism, child grooming, drug paddlers, is this what you want my nation to be represented by?

I have never hidden my Pakistani roots, even when it would have been quite easy for me to do so and no one would have been even able to tell my origins. But no, I have on many occasions, stood up and gone to the front of the room and told them I was born in Pakistan, a beautiful but highly misunderstood nation. I do this everytime I am introducing myself. I have done it infront of rooms/halls full of hundreds of people. I am proud of my Pakistani origin. I will never hide it. I just wish more of us would stand up and understand that what we do not just represents ourselves, but also our nation. Which brings me nicely to the creature that is the topic of discussion here. Have you no shame Haqqani? Did this nation not feed you and your folk well that you bite the motherland that reared you and gave you plentiful? Did you not even flinch when you bad mouthed it?

Well talking about that, I am actually however I have changed since I was last on your 'radar'.
I have one negative rating which is actually from you xD but I do understand that I got a little too carried away with my post then. I just could not find a solution to the the Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif problem which angered and triggered me.

It is people who try to change the course of the nation that we should respect, I don't agree with every policy of Imran Khan however I do respect him for his try.

I can agree with you on this for sure! I have noticed one thing as well; we Pakistani's are great at running businesses however I have seen a lack of leadership skills in a lot of us. Cutting corners to make lives easier...
One example is I have seen a lot of people (in Pakistan) cut the signal and when you ask them why they reply by saying it's after 12AM... There are no more rules.
We question people taking "Rishwat" but we don't question the people giving.
Well that's enough of my rant. xD


I can relate to what you are saying; I have people in my family who have given the ultimate sacrifice for Pakistan and it would be dishonest of me to move on and forget about their struggles to keep Pakistan afloat. I know there are millions of Pakistani's who have done alot. I love the UK; this county has given me an education, an identity which I am no doubt proud of!
I refuse to give up my green passport as I don't have the courage to turn away from what great people of the nation have done. It will be dishonest of me if I do.

I am one in two hundred million people and I do not hold a major seat in any major establishment. As a citizen it is my duty to never take/give/accept any bribery, to never intentionally cause harm to my country. My duty is to make my country proud of what overseas Pakistani's have achieved in bringing a better name for the country. I assure you there are a lot of stereotypes out there and it is my duty to remove any doubt that people have about Pakistan. But again I am one in two hundred million people, who has no major role in the country. This is all I can do and if everyone in Pakistan started with the basics; not causing harm to the country, not accepting/giving bribes we would be one prosperous nation!

I am deeply saddened by the political situation in the country however I do welcome the change that we have seen in the previous months. No one should be allowed to hold office that cant follow the rules set out by Article 62 & 63.

Thank you, honestly. You hit the right notes here and I applaud you for it. That's what I want to hear from my fellow Pakistanis. The desire and will to do good for their nation.

Not at all, we surely have our differences... It makes us who we are. Maybe my terms of expression were not the best.
I'm not trying to look for an excuse however I will make one up I was naive and young back then... I am now in first year of college and have started studying Economics which has defiantly given me a opening.

No, some one asked him of Hussain's ethnic background and all he did was answer the question and to be fair he's not a Muhajir. He was born in Pakistan, which I am saddened to say makes him a Pakistani first and a Sindhi second. Hussain did not migrate from anywhere, he was born in Pakistan, his grandparents probably migrated but for God sake that was three generations ago... Move on... Create peace between Sindh, Punjab, KP, Balochistan, GB and AJK
