That thread is for mechanized division of Pak army and not just this exercise

There is something so satisfying, seeing armour and soldiers marching in the Thar/Cholistan desert. My favourite Pakistan Army calendar images were those taken during exercises in the 90s, with the distinctive khaki uniforms and puffy hats.

Nostalgia

Good to see some of the 1 and 2 star generals keeping helmets on during briefing, good example to troops and right image.
Apnay Patton bhai ki tarah. Still I like the beret like Montgomery or the peaked cap of Rommel. Seems more general like and differentiates them from the troops

It does seem good for the camera but one thing is for sure, in the field troops have to have it constantly drilled into them that they need to keep on helmet at all times and have their personal weapon on them. In fact you will see the more elite senior officers in western forces do this too (USMC, UK Paras), it sends a big signal to troops that if a General can keep his helmet on at all times and his side arm than they have no excuse not to.

Secondly it is a very good habit as many wars have had nasty surprises where a Battalion or Brigade HQ has been attacked.

It's very reassuring to see senior PA officers behave like this as opposed to the pony shows, fancy uniforms and protocol that seems to be infecting senior levels of the Indian Army
