Status Quo or, refining the term even further, making the LoC a permanent International Border is indeed the only viable solution for Pakistan and India. But what about Kashmiris? Is this what they also want? Shouldn't we consider their wishes as well?
In a perfect world what you and I speculate in regards to "is this what Kashmiri's want" can be included. In other words truthfully tell me do Pakistan and India really care what Kashmiri's want..You and I know the bigger game that is being played out. The only sensible temporary solution that is really possible at this point is both keep what they have and make the the LOC as the international border and develop the area. No body knows the future..but at the same time we can keep fighting about the future as well. I truely believe we need to live in the present .

I do not understand...If you are saying that TTP and BLA is being used by India against Pakistan..then why not..its politics, Why should India accept that one part under Pakistan's control be peaceful, whereas the India controlled part remain not peaceful....!

The author of this article has simply said 'Pakistan is the root cause of terrorism' and then says that tit-for-tat will bring detente. Absolutely no explanation of how or why.
It's based on the false premise that eliminating or crippling Pakistan would somehow reduce terrorism, which is absolutely false as we have seen in Iraq, the US ostensibly crushed the Iraqi government on suspicions of terrorism and WMDs, what do we have now? ISIS, that's what.
So no, there will be no detente if India keeps behaving like this, falling prey to its delusions of grandeur.
And the whole 'intelligent mob' thing was laughable to say the least, not to mention the little reference to the Indian belief about Pakistan's nukes not working, hilarious.

While Pakistan has stopped actively aiding/supporting the militants since 2001-2 onwards, it turns a blind eye to their efforts in infiltration.
