Why Maoists never attack churches in Chhattisgarh? RSS leader asks

is there any relation between maoists attack pasupathi nath temple and the RSS guy statement?

Unlikely. That does seem more like a nationality issue, of Indian priests in one of Nepal's most prominent temples, now connected to the ongoing problems between India & Nepal.

Calling churches and Christian community to play an “active role” in eradicating Left-wing extremism, senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar on Sunday wondered why Maoists have “never targeted” the minority community in Chhattisgarh.

“Development can be achieved (only) through peace and brotherhood and not through violence. I have raised a few questions keeping in view Chhattisgarh which has been suffering from the menace of Maoism with a high degree. “Maoists have never targeted churches and priests just because they serve them or is there some other reason?” he asked, while interacting with reporters on the sidelines of a programme organised by Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) in Raipur, to discuss Left-wing insurgency prevailing in south Chhattisgarh.

Stating that he was putting “a few questions” before the Christian community and others working in Bastar region, the RSS leader said arms and huge sums of foreign money have been supplied to the red ultras. “...People from media, society and government provide information regarding illegal activities being carried out in the region.

Have churches ever tipped off media or government about such kind of violent and illegal activities in the region?” he asked.

However, Indresh clarified that he was not questionning integrity of churches.

“My intention is not to criticise churches. I know they are committed to India and their people believe in serving the nation, but I want their active role in eradicating Maoism, therefore I have put forth these issues. “They should decide whether the movement has brought life or death to the region, educated people or snatched away literacy from them, ensured better health or ruined health facilities, triggered development or stalled growth,” he said.

Indresh also appealed to the ultras to quit the path of violence and contribute in building a new Chhattisgarh. “The movement of fear should get transformed into a movement for development. It should become a movement for humanity rather than a movement of violence,” Indresh added.

Because they don't preach hatred.

but the above guy think otherwise... he don't even know what exactly happened in Pasupathi nath temple... but when I'm saying both Indian and Nepalese maoists are different and the attack taken place due to nationality issue.. but he is blaming as i believe in Christianity.. he didn't even check the background of attack. ..

@vsdoc am talking about this.. this is how they bring religion every where.. Regardless of what am talking.

Kathmandu: About 100 Maoist cadres on Sunday attacked the Pashupatinath temple caretakers who were protesting appointment of local priests in place of Indians, injuring 10 people in their latest assault on the shrine.
The attack came even as the ruling party activists faced flak after storming the temple earlier this week to install Nepalese priests defying a Supreme Court stay order on removal of Indian priests, who had been overseeing traditional rituals at the shrine for the past 300 years.
The local bhandaris, or temple caretakers, who vowed to launch a struggle to save the temple from "Maoist intrusion", faced the wrath of the partymen as they were set to organise a press conference, Kantipur online reported.
Around 100 Maoists attacked the bhandaris and some local devotees in the temple premises, injuring 10 people, including a member of the state-owned Nepal Television crew.

LOL.... YOU are discussing on a thread where RSS chief commented on CHRISTIANITY and Its RELIGIOUS Institutions w.r.t Maoist / Naxals.

YOU are discussing KILLINGS of HINDUS and attack on HINDU Religious Institutions.

The WHOLE Discussion is RELIGIOUS.

YOU are the one hoping to HIDE your Christian Faith while being a blatant apologist for the Maoist attacks on Hindus and desperately try to claim it was an attack on "Indians" :cheesy:

Now when your hypocrisy is called out you cry "victim".

There are plenty of Indian priests in Nepal churches, why where they not attacked ? You entire stand is designed to whitewash the Maoists attack on Hindu Religious Institutions.

So either you are a Maoist or you hate Hindus and Hindu Religious institution. Which is it ? :azn:

Ask yourself this question. How many Indian priests are there in Nepal Temples ?

Now compare that to Indian priests in Nepalese Church's and Foreign evangelicals in Nepal.

Do you know who the Nepal's Bishop was ? Its a certain "Anthony Sharma" from India. :cheesy: ...... No attack on him yet. Why ? The new Bishop i.e. HEAD of Nepal christians is "Paul Simick" ALSO from India.

It's a political act to be seen in light of the ongoing tension between Nepal & the Indian government as also the tension internally with the Madhesis. Like every political act, what is chosen is the location where there will be the most bang for the buck in terms of publicity. You should see it in the context of the harsh language used against India by the the PM of Nepal who belongs to that party.

Going after a Nepali Bishop, whether Indian or not might not be considered as being of importance to the present government of India and could create additional problems for the ruling party with other important foreign donors.

ALL Maoist attacks are Political attacks. Do not mix it with recent happenings in Nepal.

You have nailed it by acknowledging that killing a Christian Bishop is inimical to the welfare of Maoists. This is exactly what RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said and questioned

In this case, I think it does relate to the present tension.

You have nailed it by acknowledging that killing a Christian Bishop is inimical to the welfare of Maoists. This is exactly what RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said and questioned

Don't think it was a quote of the RSS chief, just someone from the RSS. He was talking about the Maoists in India, not the ones in Nepal. The Nepali Maoists are in the government ,unlike their Indian cousins, not like they can afford to alienate the rest of the world after already getting into a tiff with India.

Btw, I have pointed out elsewhere that the comment from the RSS leader was not without basis. The response here was only regarding the Nepali situation being connected which I do not think it is.

.
Several Christian evangelical organizations are hand in glove with the Maoists. This is not a rumor. But an established fact in several parts of India. Baptists Churches in the NE have repeatedly been implicated in terror links. Other churches in the Odisha region and elsewhere are also responsible.

You degenerating into name calling is the final symbol of your defeat.

So the crazed man is saying churches are legitimate targets? This shows the hatred for other religions RSS and VHP type groups have. Everywhere we are failing to build a truly secular society in South Asia. Pakistan hasn't succeeded, India hasn't and no country really has in South Asia.

Even Netherlands and France are failing to provide equality to all (hijab ban and minarets ban)

Raising Intolerance.

You want to deny RSS Free speech ?
Who am I to deny them free speech? It is just that I care for BJP and dont want these clowns ruining everything Modi has done so far. They should stay at their shakhas and play dandiya and let BJP do the political talking
