The implication sought to be given is that the Maoists & the Church are hand in glove which is why they are not attacked.

I doubt that's true.

but if you alienate the church and Christians in India then it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Maoists follow religion now? Since when? I never heard maoists attacking Buddhist temples, gurdwaras or any religious places either?.

They attack govt and development symbols.

Overblown but some connections have been known to exist.

Alienating church or Christians is a silly argument, just that in some areas the church is active in proselytizing in areas where the Maoists presence is felt & sometimes, some connections are formed. It is known though deliberately underplayed since these contacts are largely local.

Known to happen, not necessary to over read the comment.

He is trying to rake up Orrisa 2008 again. When Maoist killed an swami ji who bought back Christians into Hinduism fold again. State govt changed the report like Maoist killed him, while the ex-investigator gave a report like hardcore christians killed him. And BJP and Bajrang Dal played politics that time. He may be mentioning towards that?

Churches are filled with the light of God that defends it, being the people of the Book. It is obvious that is why any attack on churches is foiled because they are light among such huge darkness
I admire these Pakistanis, seriously I do. We have seen them behaving more Aghan, Sri lankan, Nepalese, Bangladeshi etc than the real ones. This one is acting like a Catholic Christian now.

Almost certainly using that but there are somethings that exist which many are unwilling to mention in polite conversations. Just like somethings get mentioned only by "hardliners" in other acts. Not all truths are comfortable or palatable.

The Double Standards of Our Civil Society -The New Indian Express

On September 30, 2013, nearly five years after the dastardly assassination of the 82-year-old highly revered Swami and four of his disciples, seven persons — all Christians — were convicted for the hate crime. The Swami and the string of institutions he used to run were major irritants to both the Maoists and the church which are active in the area, pushing their respective agendas. Even as this column is being written, a prominent multi-edition South-based English daily this morning (Friday), has carried an edit page article by a top CPM leader in which she has termed the judgment in the Swamiji’s murder case “atrocious”.

You can even find many articles from Christian websites that constantly claim the people who were convicted for this crime are innocent (they all have hindu names btw). While maoists are supposed to be anti religion, here they are just used by other forces as anti-hindu....since all of em have a common goal, it is a alliance of convenience.(Also check out post 31, for more direct references.)

Because Communism do not allow Religion and has a LONG history of attacking Religious Institutions and people, especially Hindu, Buddhists and Islamic.

So it is suspicious when they give special consideration to Churches.

Why don't they see the christians as a threat ? especially when they see everybody else as a threat ? :azn:
