Look at Serbia which doesn't recognize Kosovo. China doesn't recognize Taiwan. DPRK doesn't recognize Seoul. We recognized East Pakistan aka Bangladesh under pressures from imperialist powers and yet, we did not receive anything in return but lies and hatred for generations. I am sure that our shameless politicians will not hesitate to recognize any breakaway part in the future. Shame !

Every Pakistani's take on East Pakistan breakup is as follows:

"Good Riddance."

- PRTP GWD
I always took them as people that were tricked by India.

Pakistan’s recognition may have been terms of of ending the conflict but I don’t many Pakistanis worry about losing Bangladesh.

Bangladesh made a mistake what can we do?

Why are you living in past it is good for Pakistan that we become free from 20crore
People in minimum piece of land?Who will feed them?who will bear their strikes?
The people who are traitors to their own state....
We are a nuclear state and its not the East or West Pakistan. So be GROWN UP and OPEN your minds. How can a state exist which is separated by an other state?

.
We should have identified and recognized those traiters well before 1947,its only better that we now recognize them as the buddies of baniya.

This over simplified statement doesn't apply to a state. A state is like a mother. A mother never abandons her children even if they have issues. The recognition of East Pakistan was done way too quick. It was not done in a responsible manner by the politicians who were in power. Will you use the same analogy again when the next separatist act takes place ?

let it go, all this happened long before most of us were even born.

We should have given East Pakistan to India for more territory in the west in 47. But that is all hindsight.

Personally I think we should pay them as much attention as we pay Bhutan.

It set a bad example for the future. Somehow , declare Independence and Islamabad will recognize you anyway !

Pakistan doesn't recognize Armenia so that Azerbaijan doesn't get angry but Azeris love to do trade with Israel

It disapproves and discourages similar behavior. A state is a serious business unlike cricket. China will take Taiwan back as they are defending Hong Kong now.

China knew, that at some stage, they may be in a position to take Taiwan back. But that is not the case here. Pakistan knew well that from now on Bangladesh can never become part of Pakistan.

How did they know ? There was never a referendum took place in East Pakistan on that specific issue. The biggest mistake was to move away from Two nation theory by letting ethnicity taking hold. I blame British sponsored politicians. Our failure in Kashmir did not come as a surprise.
