Why didn`t Russia bail out India in 1991?

.
When two friends are poor , one can't give even if other one ask him to give millions of dollars, that is not betrayel... And If One friend is Rich and another one is extremely poor, and that rich friend refuses to give his friend even Ten thousand dollar , that is betrayel, backstabbing, arrogance, cheating etc..
Ps : India and Russia both were very poor back then..

.
In all seriousness, I doubt many Indians even knew about that issue until they scrolled through that Wikipedia article.

 Every Indian knows about the economic crisis and IMF bailout. The economic liberation that happened after was why PM Rao and Manmohan Singh are so famous. This was the reason why MMS was selected to become our PM in 2004.

Well props to them for pulling India out, I hope our Government can do the same.

Russia was anything but poor, to be honest, you can say it was in their interests however to consolidate their wealth for the defeat.

But I can say the same, this new trade war US is waging seems pretty big, some analysts have termed it as another start of a new cold war, I can argue same and say its in China's interests to consolidate wealth.

Just look at example of EU too though, Greece in under economic crisis but help from EU is so so limited.

. .
Because we didn't went begging to Russia for help to bail us out with dollars. We simply pledged our gold as collateral in return for IMF loan.

Is that the same case with you?:D
They dont have so much gold.

Thank God

Nobody helped India in 91 crisis which was the result of facade of socialism and utter corruption

pledging gold and following IMF diktats of liberalisation of economy was in fact a blessing in disguise

Whoever pulled India out of the extreme crisis, was surprised when I read it on Wikipedia, deserves a lot of credit.

Hoping the current Government in Pakistan can pull off same : )

.
1991 was golden chance for Pakistan to take Kashmir as India was weakest at that time ... we have to pledge 67 tonnes of gold as collateral to get 2.2 billion dollar loan .... you guys have missed the golden opportunity ....

Narsimha Rao was the fearless leader who pulled India out of crisis.

Manmohan Singh was an excellent economist who followed IMF instructions to the "T" and his other plus point was that he is completely honest. He was a good CFO but he was not fit for the job of a CEO.

May be all Indians above the age of 75.

. .
You made a typo.

Corrected:
May be all Indians above the age of 15.

Every single Indian I have come across since the age of 15 always claimed India to be the richest super power in the history of the jinn and the mankind.

Even today you will see Indians calling others beggars while India is one of the largest aid recipients in the world, not to mention extreme, crippling poverty and humiliation 'lower' castes have to face from cradle to the grave.

The Brahminist agenda has been successful since day one and I hope it continues to do so.
