What's new

What's up with Pakistan and it's disownership of Nobel laureates?

Dr. Salam ki kiya story hai?

I mean seriously which moron kicked him out or didnt do him justice?

.
We lambasted Dr. Abdus Salam even though he represented Pakistan and brightened our name in the world of science just because his faith was not aligned with the majority of Pakistanis.
Now we're doing the same with Malala but this time we don't even have a reason!
She's a CIA agent? Please tell me how an 11 year old girl is going to spy for America inside Taliban?
She's a foreign conspiracy! Of what? How on earth is she going to destroy Pakistan?
Our paranoia is getting the better of us...why don't we just praise her for a little bit? She hasn't even committed a sin or crime but we badmouth her like she's a convicted serial killer.

Without taking any side, you do realize that many in the West don't agree with Malala winning the Nobel Peace Prize?

I can't even reply as apparently @Horus has already made it pretty clear that i am being considered to be permanently banned.

So sorry for not being able to reply.

You deserve to be banned. You troll in almost every thread. This is no secret. Now you're destroying the discussion taking place in this thread by being personal. It's a legitimate discussion and people have the right to discuss this matter. Instead you post one liners and abuse forum members.

@he-man

The way you are trolling your time here is running out. FYI
Bhai, he does have a point, does he not?
It is Pakistan's position that he is a charity and social worker and you have personally said so many times as well. It is wrong to be hypocritical.

He is a celebrated person in Pakistan, in charge of one of the largest charity networks in Pakistan, if he does get the Nobel, he will be celebrated more.

Haath hola rakh bhai .. permanently ban ni hona.

On Topic: I don't know why Malala is being marginalized based on conspiracy theories? She is just a kid.

He left Pakistan in protest of Ahemdis being declared non muslim. His gravestone was also desecrated if am not wrong.

His Ahmedi faith was an issue for some people and then he was gradually sidelined and isolated like the rest of his persecuted community.

Oww.. too far.

Are you sure Malala isn't a yahoodi agent?
well I cant speak for that little girl but her father

hmm
I would rather slap his face any day
even if he is a Chinese , Saudi or Turkish Agent.

We as a nation did that, who knows maybe in the future when Pakistan matures as a nation, his story becomes more common knowledge.

I agree, the father is total weirdo and has an agenda of his own.

U can't deny he smelled an opportunity and lapped it with both hands,,pretty basic human trait if u ask me.
He never claimed to be a selfless man anytime.

.
Many reasons. As that Korean said, much propaganda, coupled with internal political turmoil and distrust makes the average person confused as to who the real friend or enemy is - and I don't think it's necessary to add further comment to this as everyone knows what I'm talking about.
Also, for the average Pakistani, Edhi deserves this prize much more than Malala.

"Sidelined" is strong word.

He left in protest against the anti-Ahmadi law. Ahamdis who reach Dr. Abul Salam's stature generally are immune to little Mullahs. Or at least they were back in the days when Dr. Salam was at the top of Scientist chain in Pakistan.

strange logic.

so if we can't find fault in Malala,

we must find a way to slap her by slapping her family member.

not nice

from a good poster like you.

Dr Salam added Muhammad in his name to express his strong feelings towards the faith. later in his life he became very religious as well. sidelined is not off , I chose the word carefully .. the beautiful English language has a choice of words but they convey the same meaning

unwelcome
cold shoulder
and more

yes people at his stature are way ahead of Mullahs but these people are human after all. my comments are based on the biography and articles on his life.

re Malala.. well i disagree with some of the latest comments attributed to her but I supported the girl.
actions of her father? I just mentioned for the sake of completion because he has been mentioned a lot, people accusing him of milking money out of the tragedy his daughter faced at the hands of the taliban.

yes West has an agenda in promoting her but that is not her fault and I am not judging her for that, just thinking loud that Nobel prize for her was a political decision but I can live with that.

over and out

None of these people do what they do for prizes or money. They do it because they are humanists.

To see some members here saying Edhi deserved it more or xyz deserved it less is shameful. What all these people do is extra-ordinary and unique in their own ways.

Nobel is symbolic for the cause - the cause must get highlighted and induce more people to join up for that cause - whether that be girl education or that be soup kitchens in Karachi.

What infact must be asked is what are you(not you per se but people) doing for your nation. Were you induced to joining up any of these causes.

If the answer is Yes, then Nobel prize has achieved it goal, if No, then ....

Many people love her and her achievements. But sadly, there are plenty of idiots who lambast her for no reason and come out with the strangest conspiracy theories.

We should love all our great folk.
