What's new

What Muslim country is ideologically most similar to Pakistan?

They have good leadership above all else, and a population that is educated much better because they were allied and copied the West for a majority of their countries lifespans but even now Iran fell behind Turkey economically because of the revolution.

What do you exactly mean by uniting culture?

Well...You have valid point about Iran...Iran and Turkey adopted different statergy while dealing with West....So now, Turkey is one of the successful rich Islamic nation where as Iran is still in sanction..Let us park this debate for another day...

I am sorry, i should have said unique culture. Iran and Turkey has their own self identity apart from Islam...Because, Islam is a very generic identity for a country...I have seen in different forums, where Iranian people are being pride for their being an Iranian and their own history which is quite old...In the same way, Turkey people are very pride of their Turkik heritage and history....

Arabs have a independent culture, but it was killed by extremists and socialists. If Gamal could have somehow united the Arab world we would be a superpower economically, and militarily.

I think we can get this culture back if we stop stressing Islam as much before being Arab.

@Philip the Arab Honestly Egypt always comes into mind when thinking about a country that sort of resembles Pakistan. The political history of the 20th-21st century mirrors very very closely (Coups/Wars with strong neighbours/Ups and downs with the US)

There is no ideological similarities between Egypt and Pakistan, political similarities can be between any countries doesn't mean the countries themselves are similar in anyway, where as Pakistan's very independence is deeply intertwined with Turkey, the Khilafat movement of the 1920s where we fought for the perservation of the Ottoman Khilafah led to our political voice and realization that we can actually fight and achieve what we believe in, the very soul of Pakistan was shaped in the 1910s and the 1920s, the people of Turkey themselves have not forgotten our forefathers sacrifices and hold a very positive view of Pakistan, this level historical and ideological bond cannot be found with any other muslim country vis a vis Pakistan, specially the Arabs who actively worked for the breakup of the Khilafah with the help of western powers.

Well...I hope you will get whatever good things you are wishing for your people....But in the current generation, we associated Arab nations who are rich, conservative Muslim people but they are friends with most non coservative people on this earth i.e Western nations....:p::p::p:.

though we are not identical we have similar behavior.
People on both sides of the border have similar tribal mindset..both practice orthodox versions of Islam, pan-islamist at heart..govts come and go so i wont compare them as they have always played politics on behest of someone.

TURKIYE

1. Same flag

2. Same F-16s

3. Same strong sense of brotherhood among Muslims

4. Same Fighting Spirit

5. Same caring for refugees, providing shelter to them (Pakistan hosts Afghans while Turks host Syrians)

6. Same hostile enemies in neighborhood.

7. Same Sunni Majority with great level of tolerance for minorities

8. Both have strong militaries

Pakistanis have NO reason to NOT like Turks, to be honest.

Turkey's ideological basis is different though. Their ideological basis is that of ethnicity, and a strong secular system.

Our ideology is based on religion.

I don't think there's a country like Pakistan out there.

Turks love Pakistanis, but we don't look like much. In fact, if you look at it, we are not exactly like anybody, we can be the country with the most mosques, but due to our geography, we can be in the country with the most churches (maybe Lubnan is more but not historical), the homosexuals you show depend mostly on the left Kurdish population of the country, nationalists or Islamists do not like them very much. I don't know much about Pakistan, but when we look at their culture, appearance and politics, we are not really similar. Also we don't understand arabics why don't like us dude, , Do you watch Turkish TV Series or Movies , u don't know I see you've never been to Turkey but we are not dark-skinned Arabs, after all, being a Muslim does not mean that we should be like Arabs, do Indonesians all dress up like middle easters?
As a blond balkan immigrant Turk, I live on the European side of Istanbul and I'm Muslim, you can see thousands of people who look like me when you walk around on the street, so why do I have to look like you? Do slavic Muslims in the Balkans have to look good to an arab ?

Unfortunately I cannot join my Pakistani brothers, when I look at our vloggers on a trip to Pakistan, I see that Pakistan is different from everything. Neither our city structure, our food, or our clothing, our cultures are alike. This is how we can think here because the articles in the forum speak. As far as I look at the travel videos I see, Afghans and Indian Muslims are very similar to Pakistanis

Cultures are very important but it has little to do with being a muslim. Malaysians have nothing in common with Turkey or Pakistan, yet they share religious ties. We respect Turkey and Malaysia because of religious ties.

Turkey, Malaysia, Egypt or Indonesia will always be 'kardes' to Pakistan. The happiness Pakistanis feel to meet turks is exactly because of this reason that Pakistan views Turkey as a muslim nation.

An acceptable majority of the Arab world. Why should I wear the clothes I use to relax in Central Asia in the Anatolian geography?
No, that's north Africa and Syria, and Lebanon, and Jordan doesn't even speak English much.

Wear ze old Greek clothes m8.

And if everything goes well for you, Pakistan will be an example in Muslim world in future. You are distinctly unique civilization where you practice Islam to the core, but not so conservative like Arabs. You are modern and trying to implement modern concepts to your nation, but you are not even close to being Turkey who pretends to be more Like Europeans...

Good to luck you Pakistan bud...I hope and wish...You will be an example of Islamic nation where nations will try to related with you than other way around..
