Its Bangladesh's unspoken policy to deny the fact that Bangladeshis illegally enter India. Same as pakistani's unspoken policy is to support terrorism.

Both of these will be denied by the respective governments.

But how do you monitor or follow up that their conversion actually means they become cultural Hindus?

Its not something that will happen in one generation. And its not something that will get passed on unless practiced by the adults.

That is sadly true.

Gujarat riot blowback scarred him for life.

He cannot take any more bad press if he wants to negotiate international deals for India or even get votes in India.

He is not scared for himself, he is an old man who will die in a few decades. He is afraid of the blowback it will have for India in the international community.

If we had china on our side then things would have been different, but for now china is backing pakistan and US is unreliable. in short, we have to rely on our own strength if we have to get anything done and our internal fractures are too serious for us turning into china anytime soon.
