War game suggests Chinese invasion of Taiwan would fail at a huge cost to US, Chinese and Taiwanese militaries

Since when did Chinese made any claims on mainland Japan. Probability of China starting a war with Japan is zero, possibility of Japan getting annihilated between US-China thug of war is very high. Question again is, why would they in their right mind would chose to be part of this war.

China claims Senkaku Islands. If they invade Taiwan and take it successfully. They will keep on going to their next target. The U.S. will get involved because China wants half of the Pacific Ocean in the long term. That is their goal. You already see their fishing fleets fishing in South America illegally.

Chinese coast guard ships approach Japanese vessels near Senkakus

NAHA/BEIJING – Four Chinese coast guard ships tried to approach a Japanese-registered private vessel in Japanese territorial waters around the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea on Monday.

Japan Coast Guard patrol ships secured the safety of the 997-ton Shinsei Maru and warned the Chinese ships to leave the waters.

The intrusion by Chinese government ships into Japanese waters around the Senkaku chain was the second this year, following one on Jan. 10. The Japanese-administered islands in Okinawa Prefecture are claimed by China, which calls them Diaoyu.

If USA wants to break the nuclear non-proliferation agreement, we don't mind.

We can also let all countries and organizations that hate the USA possess nuclear weapons.
Hurts China more than the U.S. Nuclear Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, etc. China will not be able to expand.

Any reason why Taiwan does not have its own nuclear deterrent? It is not like they don't have resources or know how. (They have power nuclear reactors). If they get nukes, war, at least the full-blown kind that was described, will become obsolete, and we don't have to read these simulations.
Cuz you don't allow them.

In the mid-1980s, Chang Hsien-yi entered Taiwan's nuclear development inner circle and rose to become deputy director of the Nuclear Energy Research Institute. As Taiwan's immovable efforts to develop nuclear weapons grew, Chang's infernal role became increasingly important. The Taiwanese Army colonel was absorbed and ambushed by the CIA for nearly 20 years.

At this point, it was time to "explode" at the critical moment.

In 1987, Taiwan authorities secretly ordered the reactivation of plutonium reprocessing, and within weeks, Chang Hsien-yi informed the U.S. of the situation and began providing documents on the nuclear weapons program. The U.S. government's decision to develop a nuclear weapon was made by the U.S. government.

The two of them were housed in a safe house in Virginia.

The first time I saw the news, I was shocked by the fact that the U.S. and the international community were shocked by the revelation of Taiwan's nuclear weapons development.

In response, Reagan sent a special envoy to Taiwan in January 1988 with an ultimatum to the Taiwanese authorities to

Stop the nuclear weapons program and shut down the reactor, or U.S. military support and fuel for the plant would be suspended.

The Taiwan authorities had only one way to end the nuclear weapons program immediately.

The U.S. spies hit Taiwan's nuclear weapons program hard, and the mouse played the cat, but ultimately the cat caught the mouse. The "Chang Hsien-yi incident" was a huge and heavy blow to the Taiwanese authorities and Chiang Ching-kuo himself, who died of a heart attack on January 13, 1988, the same day he was informed of the incident.

The U.S. demanded that the Taiwanese authorities shut down the nuclear reactor and sent a mission to Taiwan on January 18, 1988 to forcibly dismantle Taiwan's $1.85 billion heavy water reactor and order the suspension of all heavy water sent to Taiwan, as well as the removal of heavy water from Taiwan's nuclear reactor.

Thank you. I was not aware of this history.
