Get your facts straight- the comments came from a RETIRED official and his comments were India would respond with nuclear weapons if attacked with NUCLEAR weapons regardless of the size of the weapon/attack. India has a clear policy of only using nukes when attacked by nukes.

Let me tell you that outside of S.Asia no one is covering the Chinese incursion, no one is interested, no one is giving it any attention so the idea that all this is cooked up to divert attention away is just nonsense. And do you think if that weren't the case the Indian govt could give two hoots about international attention? Are they a bunch of shy school boys? The Problem is Geographical Area they are very small country and we are conventionally very strong so they just put the First use for deterring us from attacking them .Their Policy is Don't mesh with Us its very simple.

What's the problem? If both India and Pakistan had a "no first use" policy the chances of a nuclear war would be practically non-existent. It is the ambiguity around Pakistan's nuclear threshold and Pakistan's apparent willingness to escalate any conventional war into a nuclear one that keeps the risks of a nuclear apocalypse alive.
