Your rant doesnt nullify the the fact that India is with Biggest begging bowl for getting UK AID among many countries.

Sure India is a net recipient of aid, but you need to make an important distinction when it comes to comparing India and Pakistan. For starters, the Indian economy wouldn't collapse without foreign assistance. India has been growing steadily for the last decade and is all set to overtake China as the world's fastest growing (major) economy. India would've simply missed its development goals by 3 years or so had the British decided to cut aid.

Pakistan, on the other hand, would've defaulted on its payments had it not been for the IMF. That is to say, your country would've been officially bankrupt. Furthermore, the raging insurgency and the floods last year have made Pakistan all the more dependent on foreign assistance to keep it afloat. Where do you think Pakistan would stand if the US/IMF cut assistance and opened an albeit more expensive, less treacherous route to Afghanistan through the CAR's?

It's easy to get off on technicalities ain't it? Coming from a journalist, one would've hoped for a little more insight.

Oh that I have, thing is India is not dying without the British Aid. Its their decision to give aid, if they decide to stop the aid that decision will be theirs too. India couldn't care less.

Since the news mentioned India is the biggest recipient of UK aid and since we had been hearing many Indians about sources of this claim whenever we made it and since Indians always throw this uncalled for taunt that Pakistan is getting aid its very much relevant to remind you that next time before coming with this rant please check the facts about your aid getting
