I totally understand the difficulty of poor people in India, there is no doubt about it. But india itself is aid doner, the critics also point out to their massive space programme that even the UK lack that.

Even BD is an occasional aid donner . yes you are right about the other spending by India But the issue is that Indians are always in ostrich like hiding mode when reality is altogether different.

Sir that argument is rubbish in regards to the Space program the Aid will be given to the poorest states in India like Bihar and UP

* India is rich (it is not, Bihar state, one of the three states on which DfID will focus, has a population the size of Germany and an annual per capita income of £200);

* India has a space programme (it does, but this should improve its ability to monitor agricultural performance and climate change, strengthen telecoms, and generate many other development spinoffs);



Remember Indian businessmen also give money to Charity in Uk such as Lakshmi Mittal who donated £1M to children in need

1. So why India with such a great growth rate take care of its own poor

2. Laskhmi Mittal is an individual and does NOT represent Indian Govt. Your Govt's spending on other non-development projects is one thing and an individual's gestures doesnt justify your closing eyes to Indian poor
