Turkish Maroon berets - (beat Delta force aswell)

Correct me if i'm wrong but above 30.000 terrorist have been killed since 1984. When you consider PKK's fix number of 5000 active militants on the mountains. Army finished them 6 times. But politicians couldn't put an end to the support from Kurds to PKK and couldn't prevent them to go mountains for become a terrorist.

Thousands of people sacrificed their lifes for their country. Right before the AKP, PKK was crippled...

So i'm asking again, whose fault is this mess? The army's or the politician's?

Yes Turkey sent soldiers to the Korean War, but how many? 5460
I know the stories of heroism of Turkish soldiers i read them many years ago and they indeed brought tears to my eyes. But emotions aside, how can you call that a full scale war? We sent maybe less than 1% of our soldiers.

Let me give some perspective
Iran-Iraq war
Iran
About 2-3 million soldiers fought and about 1-1,5 million casualty. Now that is a real war in modern history.

We need to get over our chest thumping and face the realities. Yes our military industry is growing rapidly, but if we are to be honest, we haven't had any real war experience for almost 100 years other than Cyprus and mini operations in North Iraq (mostly aerial).

If it takes 1-1,5 million casualties to gain your trust, no thanks...

Also you can observe our passivism after the incidents of the flotilla and the downing of our plane by Syria. We are a diplomatic country who fears to intervene even against Syria. Give me a break

Then what are we discussing here? We talk about war experience. You call Turkish military one of the best in the world. But how can we be that without any real war experience. I don't want such a war either, but at the same time i don't exaggerate our military capabilites.

1 million casualty is a good thing? we never even had 1 million casualty in first world war , iran-iraq war was not modern , it was like a WW2 war .

so lets declare war to all the countries around us for some experience?

Does pacifism come from the military or from the government?

First of all theres alot of people here that has doubts if you are Turk , second nobody cares about your opinion , thirdly ever heard of a saying called '' Icimizdeki irlandalilar''?

It seems you don't get the point. We are short in matters of war experience, i don't call it a negative nor a positive thing. I am just tired of reading the exaggeration by some guys. We have a somewhat modern military equipment and we are rapidly developing indigenous military industry.
But saying Turkish military is the best, is a big exaggeration.

I think this is enough for today. Now i am not a Turk because i am realistic, kid go get some real education and then talk to me, can't waste my time with your likes.

What is that have to do with the army? Since when army is the decision maker on foreign issues?

Friend, armies real job is not making wars but their deterrence. If we haven't been involved in any large scale war, it shows the power of our army. Not the other way around.

I partly agree. But staying passive is neither a positive thing in the military. The longer you stay unexercised the longer you alienate yourself from world developments, for example WWII.

.
We live in a madman region , russia on the north of us , iraq who had like so many wars next to us , greece next to us and like we are in like the region with the biggest mess directly in the middle ( many will say NATO) , but even before 1952 we never had no other wars.

.
hope people are aware of the fact that we are in the age of Network-centric warfare...

Those monkeys on the mountains whom you are underestimating are providing a quite experience to our army.

And by staying passive what do you mean? What should we do? Declare war on Israel because of some ultra-fundamentalist nutjobs? Or deal with them in the diplomatic arena, which our politicians failed...

Or declare war on Syria while we have the chance to deal with them without getting directly involved? Which our politicians again failing...
