Very rational comment. If Turkey desires to be power broker it ought stay out of Mid east infighting. Let the second/third tier regional states sort/fight it out.

Future lies with those states, that can take advantage of the Russia-EU tug of war. Third front ought to be opened to counter Russian expansion in Caucasus & Eastern Europe (Ukraine and elsewhere). Turkish advance in Non EU territory in the Balkans will do precisely that. With EU in the west, Turks in south and US naval armada in the Pacific, Russia will be hard pressed to pause it's adventures in peripheral states.

This is the perfect opportunity for Turkish republic to expand !

I can't help but think what is going on around Turkey now has to do with the treaty of lousanne which expires in 2023, it will give Turkey legal right to take oil fields in north Iraq and some parts of North Syria and Thrace in Greece.
