The women in the TV dramas/movies were portrayed by the modern actresses, but we don't know how would the ancient Chinese girls match our modern perception of beauty.

So what was the pre-Qing Dynasty traditional clothing/hair styles in China? Are there not big regional differences in traditional China? I mean between North and South?

You can Google "Qin Dynasty clothing", "Han Dynasty clothing", "Tang Dynasty clothing", "Song Dynasty clothing", "Ming Dynasty clothing".

These are the traditional clothing fashions for the Han people.
 
The ancient traditional Chinese costume for women knows as han4fu2 汉服 fulfills the conditions of Islam as to how women should dress.

Any dress is Islamic as long as it is as per the the conditions set by Islam be it Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Pakistani, English, Iranian etc..

That's so awesome, man. Yes, indeed, China has a very long history and many styles or regalia.

Is there anything in Chinese clothing that is similar to Japanese Kimono ?

One of the purpose in ancient times why the ends of the sleeves were so wide was that it was not allowed for girls and women to show their teeth when smiling or laughing. So when they had to laugh or giggle they used to cover their mouth with the wide end of the sleeves.
