Tigris Shield Peace Operation Updates & Discussions

I don't think so. I don't think they have the guts to openly prevent the PKK's activity on their soil. We know how PKK was attacking Turkish soldiers from Peshmerga outposts in the past and I expect very close or similar situations in the future if they are so committed to send border guards and "secure" the border with Turkey. I think the only thing they will try to prevent and counter is free movement of Turkish troops trough Iraqi territory not only at the eastern part of the Iraqi border close to Iran but also in Habur-Sinjar area. Such deployments will increase the influence of Iraqi forces in the area and after intelligence about possible Turkish intervention no matter what the scale is there will be actual security force that is representing the Iraqi State and which is authorized to counter legally Turkish movements trough the area and enforce the law. Such deployment is increasing the risk of Iraqi-Turkish clash at the border regions and will endanger the personal security of the members of intelligence-spec ops teams which infiltrate the Iraqi border with special objectives. The only way to make Iraq cooperate in the war against PKK is abandoning the relationship which we have with KRG and this is not possible. Even if there is partial cooperation between the Iraqi and Turkish forces on the border this cooperation will be very delicate and as we know the dynamics of the region and the recent enthusiasm that the Turkish State showed us for fighting PKK it can easily turn into a diplomatic and security crisis between the two countries.
Bro i was sarcastic. :D

We will simply bomb the "border guards" as well. Hell we should decimate the whole Iraqi army in that sector if they get in our way.

We don't need your visas. The most important visa is ours.

How is that?

Baghdad is actually being very reasonable. To Iraq there is a Turkish threat of wanting to annex lands, the response you will give me is the usual PKK threat. However whilst PKK is a threat it's also being used as an excuse for other means, the Bashiqa base serves no anti-PKK purpose and was said to be removed after the Mosul OP. That is yet to be seen however it makes sense considering the policy and ideology of AKP as well as what is being seen in Syria.

Iraqi gov so far stated they will deploy border guards on the Turkish border, that's the first step to regaining control over that land and taking responsibility for the land there which includes responsibility that no actor (PKK) attacks other states from that land. Yet you complain?

Iraq is being like Switserland to every neighbor, of which most are actually openly hostile. Very different from Saddam era who would drop chemical weapons on anyone.

The solution is actual annexation of the lands from Barzani Dictatorship, they are not legitimate anyway. We wouldn't hear such noise from the world.

They are in the overall way legitimate within Iraq which is legitimate in the eyes of the UN/world making it legitimate. But Baghdad is adopting policy to return its control over that region, and the latest move of that is the announcement to restore control over the borders.

But laws and official things aside the KRG is led by two tribal factions, the Barzani and Talabani family.. making it illegitimate in another way within Iraq. You know how politics and constitutions are, by cutting through all that the truth is known but that doesn't fly in politics they work by what the paper says.

Yeah such legitimate they are that governments around the world showen huuge protest to Bağdat when shitty Iraqi army beaten Pissmerga and PKK in Kirkuk and took the land from "legitimate" force

We steamrolled in northern Barzani Dictatorship and took mountains close to Turkey-Iran-Barzani Dictatorship triangle. Did you hear anyone protested us? Nope? Nobody cares what happens in Barzani Dictatorship.

Even if a nuke explodes in Barzani Dictatorship, people would show how sad they are in the day 1, next day life will continue like nothing happened.

Kirkuk is not KRG, it never was de-jurdo, only de-facto. Baghdad had every right to take it back, they also have the right to take Arbil but US won't like it. Taking Arbil would be easy and should be done, they have some nice malls. When it comes to the KRG, the world (world powers mostly the US) only really care about a few parts. Arbil, Arbil airport and the border access to Syria.

Ye everything is “easy” for you Arabs yet your armies drop weapons at first opportunity we saw against ISIS.

When you clear PKK then we can leave otherwise don’t moan but yes it’s a land grab and Iraq won’t do anything about it.
