Their are two visions fro examples for oil pipelines in our neighbourhood. the American proposals where India acts a s a proxy or Putins pipeline. Their will be trillions milked by American corporations on these pipelines if west succeeds. That money would stay in our region including Russia if Putins vision was to be successful,

the point being made here is

India buys arms & co-operates with russia in some technologicaly so it can never be an ally/partner with india's no1 arch enemy i.e pakistan.

well say if the above statement is true by all means: in this scenario India buys arms from israel & usa an arch enemy of iran but has strategic partnership/trade partnership with iran - if this can happen why not russia can trade with india & be a strategic partner with pakistan.

It would be foolhardy to think that Russia's overture to Pakistan is at India's expense. Every country has it's on foreign policy & so is Russia's. Despite being a close ally of Russia, India never had a problem with Russia's closeness to China. I don't think India will have a problem with Russia's closeness to Pakistan either.. 'cause it's quite secured about it's stretegic relationship with Moscow..

There is more than trade. Culture exchanges are getting bigger.

Also a new found trend is the Russians flocking as tourists in beaches.

The world renowned beaches of Goa and Kovalam are full of them . ( sometimes a big social issue with their free life style).

And more than trade we have common voices most of the times in global issues.


Trade, Culture,Economy, researches, energy security,student and people exchanges, interdependence on many things and much more.

Arent these the things that defines the relationships between 2 nations?

Photo shoots with leaders and chest thumping dialogues arent exactly the relationship between India and Russia.

Putin was better than Medvedev for India. And we are looking forward to his next tenure to lift the relationship further.
