The Kargil Conflict Revisited

Buddy most Indians are interested in tit-for-tat exchanges here, just so they feel better. But some posters actually come here for purposeful discussion with knowledgeable people. I do not quite see why you have to say what you wrote. Its not a matter that needs to be discussed. There is no point in it. This **** has been dead for years.

I am here as much to learn as to say what I want to say. I might be wrong, but this is not a tit-for-tat response to anything. We are discussing kargil because of revelation of an ex-ISI top ranking person. In any case there are too many social/political issue thread on this defence forum, thread like this are quite few.

It was hindus who needed face saver, it was your PM who went to US first, our jawans were sitting tight till that moment.

You were so afraid that you failed to step any where else.

It was your army which was trapped in Kashmir not ours.

your brainwashing is complete . go spread as much lies as you can . :)

Seriously man have you even bothered to open a text book from natural sources or do you accept any BS they feed you as gospel truth ?

After the damning recent exposes by Gen Aziz, Gen Kayani (Ex 10 Corps commander) and Gen Ali Kuli Khan Khattak, the latest to blow the lid off Pakistan's Kargil fiasco is ex ISI officer, Colonel Ashfaq Hussain.

In his book 'Witness to Blunder', Colonel Ashfaq Hussain has shockingly revealed that the Kargil misadventure was masterminded by former Army Chief Pervez Musharraf along with Major General Javed Hassan, General Mehmood and General Aziz. This was the 'gang of four' that was solely responsible for the unwarranted aggression against India in the 1999 Kargil war.

The book further reveals that on 28th March 1999, General Pervez Musharraf crossed 11 kms beyond the LoC on a helicopter and was escorted by Col Amjad Shabbir at a location named Zakriya Mustakar, where elements of the 12 NLI were deployed. He was accompanied by Brig Mehsud Aslam, then brigade commander. Musharraf spent the entire night at the post and left the next morning!

Shockingly, he says that units of the Northern Light Infantry had already positioned themselves on the Kargil heights as early as Dec 1998, a good six months before the actual battle commenced!!

And Musharraf says that the PA reacted only when the Mujahideen got into a fix in May 1999!!!! Otherwise they just gave 'moral support to the 'Kashmiri freedom fighters' who had occupied the Kargil heights!!

And he has the gumption to say that had Nawaz not rushed to America for help to stop the war, Siachen would have been in Pakistan's hands!! Really? Gen Aziz himself says that the NLI were on their last legs as they were completely out of ammo and supplies including water as the Indian Army had destroyed all their supply lines and the main logistics base (Muntho Dhalo). If Nawaz had not gone to America for ensuring 'safe passage' for the Pak troops, it would have been a rout of embarrassing proportions!

Col Hussain also contests Musharraf's claims that they suffered only 270 casualties. According to the Col who has based his facts on research and a vast number of interviews, more than 1000 officers and troops were killed and thousands more wounded. This has been corroborated by the other generals too.

Skeletons are falling out of the cupboard like ninepins! Let's see what more the next whistle blower has in that cupboard!

All retired officers of PA seem to either picked up a pen to write their memoirs or have begun to speak to the media these days.

Release of pent up emotions or opportunism ?

Progressively more and more revelations will come out. You can be sure of that.

Only one question crosses my mind; What is the take of the present PA leadership esp. Gen Kiyani on this state of affairs? :azn:

These Ex General's must be talking because of express orders from higher up's - cannot for a second even imagine that it suddenly dawned on these folks to be truthful out of the blue.

Add to the list Brig (Retd) Javed Hussain, Fmr Pak Army Special Forces officer and Musharraf's batch mate on Indian media and that too to Arnab Goswami :D

Arnab must be laughing his azz off

Musharraf is a liar, what do you expect? Just look at the performances he puts on during international or Indian TV appearances that certain members on PDF seem to lose their minds with joy over!

Looks like Musharff's arrival date is coming closer :D

Hey guys! Now hear this! General Hassan, whilst planning the Kargil ops confidently pouts that Pakistan will surely win the war and take Siachen back as Indian soldiers cannot fight because they are banyas!!!

Now if that's the standard of a Pak General's intellect, then God help them! I don't think he has had the opportunity of coming face to face with the likes of the Rajputs, Jats, Gorkhas, Sikhs, etc.

Here's an Indian Gorkha soldier, just to show the General that he's no 'banya' who can't fight!

And here's one for the General's album - just to remind him that those khukris are deadly!!

Thanks a bunch for the pics. The first one is fantastic. Wallpaper from now on. I like Gen Kiyani more than his predecessors. Atleast he doesnt lie that much.

a trapped army which bombed enemy positions with artillery along with help from AF and retook nearly all peaks(barring 3)?

Pakistan's objective was to cut Indian supplies to IA in Siachin and have a position of strength at negotiations.

We still control Siachin and Kargil.

Point 5353 is important one but if we decide to neutralize it in war, it wont take long.

There is no if in reality..
all other points agreed..:smokin:

Looks like Musharff's arrival date is coming closer :D

he wouldnot be here in Pakistan..
i can bet...
